So now Sarah’s going Vogue?
To: PaleoBob
I was quite surprised to see that Sarah once again holds elective office. That's the ONLY WAY you can be a RINO ~ you must be elected first and be holding office.
Anyone see what she ran for? I missed it fur shur.

She’s not in elective office either, and she wasn’t a Democrat running in a Democrat district at the time she was elected.

McCain will have to behave himself for nine months or Palin could pull the endorsement. We also dont know what might have been said behind the scenes. The McCain statements about health care in the article can be taken a bunch of different ways. Most likely, he was trying to leave himself maximum wiggle room in all directions. With Palin on board, he has to be careful how he wiggles.
This may be a good way to look at it.

There are, what, 200-225 Republicans (including RINO's) in Congress? Has anyone ever come up with a list of the two or three who are conservative enough?
I'm looking for a comprehensive list . . . one that even our Third Party malcontents do not dispute.

Go Sarah!! Damn the naysaying nabobs of negativity!! Full steam ahead!!
Amen to that! I'm behind that sentiment 100% and I have been from the moment Sarah Palin showed up on the national scene.
Go Sarah!

My point is that Palin was comfortable with McCains positions before this new endorsement, so I dont understand why there should be so much eye popping about it now. Because McCain as the presidential contender was more conservative and trustworthy than McCain as the Senator. McCain knew he could not win support of the right without choosing someone like Palin, who would have forced him to govern from the center-right.
McCain as a Senator is too liberal and too much of a back-stabber. Sarah has no obligation to support McCain's Senate re-election.
Look, the Tea Party movement is angry at Republican incumbents and statists too. Did Sarah not think McCain was immune from this? If she wanted to repay some perceived debt to McCain, all she had to do is stay out of the primary and then campaign for McCain in the general election.

The people who wouldn’t vote for McCain or Obama on principles were not the type to stay home. They would have voted third party or written in a name. They are the people who would have gone to the polls to vote for local candidates and ballot issues. There were less than 2 million third party votes in the entire country. I get tired of seeing people use empty arguments like this to make a personal attack.

Since when did loyalty become a dirty word. McCain put her in the national spotlight, put her in a position where she could write a book and actually make some money on it, get on Fox News, and heck maybe even make a run at Pres. I loathe McCain, swore off voting for him years ago and plan to hold to that, but if I were in her shoes I’d campaign for him this year, I’d owe it to him.

Re: your post (#115).
I completely agree.
I'm also a conservative that is dismayed to see Sarah Palin and Scott Brown endorsing John McCain, the ultimate 'RINO. However, unless Palin and Brown begin promoting amnesty for illegals and civilian trials for captured terrorists, abortion-on-demand paid for by tax dollars and same-sex 'marriage' or claim that tax cuts are only 'for the rich', I'll continue to support them, with the hope that McCain loses the GOP primary race to J.D. Hayworth, which may be possible, considering McCain's long record of being a Washington insider at a time when Washington insiders are anathema to voters.

She’a a pragmatist like Reagan.
Repub’s need to build up the party before they ask for perfection.
Snowe is a RINO,not Palin. Jeez.

Although supporting a rino is always questionable, only fools or leftists would try to say it makes Palin herself a rino. There are clear reasons, other than agreement on policy, for her to campaign for him, painful as it is for many of us.
Glad to see you "on board" for some rational thinking here... :-)

I would think anyone could figure out why Sarah Palin is speaking at a few McCain fundraisers. Let’s read your best shot at it.
