The Progressives call the true Democrats: Blue-dog Democrats.
Currently there are 52 members of the Blue Dog Coalition.
As one column pointed out, the Blue Dogs have proven that common sense, conservative economics and compassion arent necessarily mutually exclusive.
Blue Dog Coalition proposals have served as middle-ground markers which laid the foundation for the bipartisanship necessary to bring about fundamental reforms, and helped set into law policies reflecting the common sense, conservative compassion so often attached to the groups efforts.
In the 111th Congress, the Coalition continues to make a difference in Congress by forging middle-ground, bipartisan answers to the current challenges facing the Country. A top priority will be to refocus Congress on balancing the budget and ridding taxpayers of the burden the debt places on them. The group also expects to be involved in a variety of issues, where the stale extreme left vs. right approach requires a breath of fresh air.

CPC Urges Public Option in Senate Bill Friday November 20, 2009
CPC Co-Chairs Grijalva and Woolsey urge inclusion of public option and other progressive priorities as the Senate begins consideration of the health care reform bill
November 19, 2009
The Honorable Nancy Pelosi, Speaker
U.S. House of Representatives
The Honorable Harry Reid, Majority Leader
U.S. Senate
Washington, DC
Dear Madam Speaker & Leader Reid:
On behalf of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, we write to thank you for your leadership in bringing important health care reform legislation to a vote, and to bring the priorities of the Caucus to your attention.
A Strong Public Option To provide affordable coverage for millions of currently uninsured Americans, health care reform legislation must include a public option that is available without delay. Runaway health costs are putting an unbearable strain on both private and public budgets. There are viable arguments to be made about how to structure public health reform, but we do not support a trigger because delay is intolerable.
Similarly, a law allowing certain states or regions to deny their citizens access to a public health care program will badly undermine the programs viability. It would be wrong to obtain a small handful of votes in Congress by including an opt-out clause. Those votes would be bought at the expense of tens of millions of Americans living in states likely to opt out for ideological reasons.
Affordability - Insurance, whether public or private, must be affordable for all Americans. We will continue to fight to ensure the sufficiency of subsidies within the Health Exchange to provide affordability of premiums for those who do not currently have health insurance. We must maintain and strengthen cost containment provisions for premiums to ensure affordability for those who already have insurance but could lose coverage without mechanisms to rein in spiraling costs.
Antitrust Exemptions - We strongly support repealing the health insurance industry exemption from antitrust laws. Health insurance should be treated the same as the rest of the economy for the sake of competitive fairness.
Reproductive Choice -We urge you to uphold current law regarding a womans reproductive health. The Stupak-Pitts amendment eliminates constitutionally protected reproductive health options, and it must be removed from the bill.
Verification - The Health Insurance Exchange must be widely accessible. No citizenship or residency verification should be required for purchase of insurance in the Health Insurance Exchange. Additional verification requirements could prevent individuals from purchasing health care coverage with their own funds.
Single Payer - We continue to support the inclusion of a provision that will allow states to offer a state single-payer plan. We recommend language that provides this flexibility for states.
We look forward to working with you to pass the strongest health care reform bill possible.
Sincerely,
Rep. Raul M. Grijalva, Co-Chair
Rep. Lynn Woolsey, Co-Chair

Remember what Glenn Beck said about Progressives not caring about the election outcome? That they will just put the pedal to the metal and drive through their agenda?
The Unions are Progressives.
Their reaction to Scott Browns victory in Massachusetts?
This article is from the Communist Party USAs news source: Peoples World.
Washington, DC Service Employees International Union President Andy Stern released the following statement after Scott Browns victory in Massachusetts.
Today is no different than yesterday or the day before or the day before that.
The reason Ted Kennedys seat is no longer controlled by a Democrat is clear: Washingtons inability to deliver the change voters demanded in November 2008. Make no mistake, political paralysis resulted in electoral failure, Stern said.
.....Todays vote must be a wake-up call that now is the time for bold action.
===========================
The only way the Progressives can keep forwarding their agenda is to intimidate, bribe and threaten the Blue Dog Democrats.
Remember the Democrats have the majority in both the House and Senate
The Republicans are NOT the obstructionists here; the Blue Dog Democrats are.
Will there be a war witnessed by Americans of the Progressives against true Democrats?

I have a question....How did the prfix “hon” meaning honorable get in front of any of these people’s name???
I don’t believe any of them are “honorable”...
By this I mean that their goals sound practical, if speciously so. But their fervor and passion is more akin to that of religious zealots.
Though this is nothing new to those on FR, their politics is their religion. In fact, they are so afire for their religion, even when it becomes completely disconnected with the actually achievement of their original goals, that I have wondered if there were not some kind of spiritual possession involved.
Many people have said that the human hunger for religion and/or God or gods is so powerful as to overwhelm rational thought...and seeing the effect their politics has on these family members is evidence enough to convince me of the truth of that theory.
That is the very reason I do not believe that Obama can or will relinquish his Marxist ideology just because of the rebuke of the MA voters.
He is still possessed and the possessing agent will not let go until its host (Obama) is dead, in essence or in fact.
Things will probably heat up, and more tricks. I don't see Obama being like Clinton and listening to the message.
