Ex-Secretary of State James Baker endorses Hutchison for Texas governor
HOUSTON Former U.S. Secretary of State James Baker endorsed U.S. Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison on Tuesday in her bid to unseat Gov. Rick Perry.
the Greater Houston Pachyderm Club, a GOP group, said that although he's backed Perry in the past, it's time for the governor to go. "I'm not going to stand up here and trash him," Baker said, but "nine years is enough."

I”m very disappointed. she is poison for Texas.
The inside the beltway republicans are gonna support KBH - no doubt about that. See how much good it does.
Rick Perry is a solid conservative. We have RINOs endorsing RINOs.
God bless ‘em, those guys are really out of touch.
I must admit, Texas politics is an absolute mystery to me. I don’t see Kay Baily Hutchison as any great leader, intellect or conservative. She’s just barely an adequate Senator, and reliable vote. Maybe Perry has his problems - I don’t know - but what would inspire Hutchison, who is a little long in the tooth, to want to get into such a contested race when she could stroll to reelection in the Senate?
Palin goes for Perry and they have to counter with a president.
That should pretty much guarantee a win for Perry.
The more there is of this kind of thing the better Rick Perry’s chances become!
As usual, the inside the beltway crowd has entirely misread the tea leaves.
**groan**
Tool of the tool.
The Bush family has strong business connections to Mexico. Regular OBL-palooza lining up on Hutchinson’s side.
What makes the Bush’s so tone-deaf?
Kay is a puppet for the Bush gang in Texas.
Perry doesn’t look so bad anymore;plus he’s allies with Palin.
Bush Inc. wants to keep control away from the newcomers in the party. Screw em. They’ve made a mess of America the last 20 years. IMHO
One loser endorsing another!
Gee, now I’m even less inclined to see her as a viable candidate.
I’ve decided that I don’t really care who wins Governor of Texas. Texas can decide who they want to have as their governor. I hope the democrat doesn’t win.
No surprise here. Bush had problems defending himself BECAUSE he didn’t truly believe the conservative message—just like his dad. Why wouldn’t he go for Washington establishment?
Gee, now I’m even less inclined to see her as a viable candidate.
I don’t trust Kay, and the endorsement of W certainly won’t change that, just the opposite. It’s the stamp of RINO.
I'm taking Perry re-election bets at 2:1 right now.
One more DC insider endorsement for KBH, it goes to 4:1.
