White House Trying to Re-Ignite War On Fox News
The Lid/The Hill ^ | 1/19/10 | The Lid

Posted on 01/19/2010 6:12:32 AM PST by Shellybenoit

Back in October, the Obama administration set image of the presidency back at least fifty by taking on Fox News and losing. It started with then White House communications director Anita Dunn saying that Fox is "opinion journalism masquerading as news." Patting rival networks on the head for their authenticity (White House code meaning in the Tank for Obama), David Axelrod declared Fox "not really a news station." And Chief of Staff Emanuel told the other networks not to follow Fox.

It all ended when the White House tried to exclude Fox from an interview with pay czar Kenneth Feinberg and the "press pool." The press pool is made up of the 5 major news organizations including CNN, ABC, NBC, CBS, and FOX. FOX has been a member of the White House press pool since 1997. Officials invited the entire press corps to the round robin interview process with the express exception of FOX News. The Washington Bureau Chiefs of all of the 5 major networks consulted. In a rare show of journalistic integrity, the group agreed that if FOX were not allowed to participate, that they would boycott the interview with Feinberg in protest.

After that, the President dropped the Fox News fight which was damaging his reputation. Or so we thought. It seems the White House is declaring the smack-down they received in the Fox Wars as "Just a Flesh Wound." According to a report in The Hill, President Obama wants to re-start his game of "Wag The Fox."

Geez - I wish Obama would take the war on terrorism half as seriously as he does the war on Fox and/or the war on Rush.

Hmm, after a year of producing nothing except economic and national security failure, can jug ears rouse the rabble against a cable news network?

Could it be that Fox is the only cable network reporting the truth. The Dems can’t stand the truth. They believe if they can demonize Fox News, the Dems will have a better chance of socializing this country. GO FOX.

Right now, FOX News, and Internet Forums like this one constitute Radio Free America and its not surprizing that that Marxist Bastard in the Oval Office wants to cut off the only avenues of truth regarding his socialist plans for America.

This bastard is no American - I don’t give a damn where the hell he was born. He is a stealth Caesar Chavez, sitting like a bloated, evil spider in the chair occupied by many more qualified decent American leaders.

He and his marxist cohorts in Congress must be removed from office or America and the end-dream of western civilization will be dead.

I intend to watch Glenn Beck’s expose this coming week on “Progressivism”.

New White House Comms Director Takes Same View of Fox. ‘We Don’t Feel an Obligation to Treat them Like we Would Treat a CNN or an ABC or an NBC’ Fox News Responds

By Chris Ariens on Jan 18, 2010 11:51 PM

The White House has a new communications director — Dan Pfeiffer — but the message is the same when it comes to Fox News Channel.

During a video interview today with The New York Times’ The Caucus blog, Pfeiffer was clear about the White House position on Fox News:

“I have the same view of Fox that Anita [Dunn] had, which is that Fox is not a traditional news organization. They have a point of view. That point of view pervades the entire network both the opinion shows, like Glenn Beck and Bill O’Reilly, but also through the newscasts during the day,” Pfeiffer said.

“We don’t feel an obligation to treat them like we would treat a CNN or an ABC or an NBC or a traditional news organization. But there are times when it would make sense to communicate with them and appear on the network.”

Fox News responded tonight: “Obviously new to his position, Dan seems to be intent upon repeating the mistakes of his predecessor... and we all remember how well that turned out.”

I think I heard Hugo Chavez say the same thing.

It’s a wag the dog type strategy. It works because the left is populated with brain damaged hateful people. The WH knows the left despises Fox. So, they point to them like pointing to a shiny object. The left is distracted, and the incompentence of the WH is no longer a key issue.

These idiots fail to mention the two NBC commies olberman and that carpet-chewing maddow
freak. If they were not so stupid, I would blame it on arrogance.

I pray that Scott Brown wins today.

So in a couple of sentences the lie is stood on its head.
Fox is not "a traditional news organization" (a liberal news organization) yet the admission is that they have actually do have newscasts which makes them a news organization, traditional or not.
That's pretty pathetic.

MSNBC’s Ed Schultz: “I tell you what, if I lived in Massachusetts I’d try to vote 10 times,” said Schultz on his Friday radio show. “I don’t know if they’d let me or not, but I’d try to. Yeah, that’s right. I’d cheat to keep these bastards out. I would. ‘Cause that’s exactly what they are.”

MSNBC’s Olbermann: “in Scott Brown we have an irresponsible, homophobic, racist, reactionary, ex-nude-model, teabagging supporter of violence against woman and against politicians with whom he disagrees.”
