How Scott Brown can make it absolutely, positively, 100% sure the Dems won't delay seating him..
one man's opinion...

Scott Brown is going to win tomorrow, and possibly by double digits. Given all the speculation that the Dems will attempt shenanigans to delay seating him in order to pass Obamacare, and given the cogent opinion that in fact, as soon as the results are finalized, he is indeed the next sitting US Senator from Massachussets, there is one thing that Brown should, and can do, that will make it just about impossible for the Dems to try any funny stuff.. Read on..

It's irrelevant.

Temporary Senate Appointments

The Senate subcommittee and committee concluded, based on its hearing and review, that “the term of service of a Senator appointed to fill a vacancy in an unexpired term ends on the day when his successor is elected by the people.” 1939 Congressional Record, p. 998. There was evidently no controversy among either the subcommittee or full committee regarding this legal conclusion, and the committee then presented a resolution to the Senate for adoption, expressing the view that Berry’s term of service expired on November 8, 1938, the date of the special election. As Senator Connally, a member of the subcommittee, explained to the Senate, the fact that the Tennessee statute purported to extend Berry’s term until the qualification of his successor was of no force because the statute was “plainly in conflict with the provisions of the seventeenth amendment.” Accordingly, the Senate adopted the proposed resolution without dissent. 1939 Congressional Record, p. 1058.

As of Tuesday evening, Paul Kirk is no longer senator and has no vote.

I never had a piece of bread
Particularly long and wide
But landed on the sanded floor
And always on the buttered side.

Chickens acquaint a man with buttered bedfellows.

My horse sense tells me that the Democrats have a plan to derail the election. By some means they are going to delay Brown's trip to the senate for a last-gasp try to pass the health care bill.

My spidey-senses are tingling too.

Let us pray we are worried for no reason...

Wednesday morning, at 7am, Scott and his lovely wife should climb into his truck, gas it up, then head down I-95, acompanied by a caravan of supporters ( and a whole slew of news reporters and helicopters ) drive right in Washington DC, pull right up to the Senate, ask the Capital Hill police where senators are supposed to park, and annouince that he's ready to start work immediately..

He'd better have a security detail, perhaps a Patriot Riders escort, to ensure his safety from Progressive Liberal thugs.

My husband and I were at Scott Brown's final "hometown" rally Monday night in Wrentham, Massachusetts. (We also attended 2 of his earlier rallies in North Andover and in Littleton at one of his campaign headquarters.)

Scott gave a short speech in Wrentham and he DID say he was going to "pack up his 'ol truck as soon as he's elected US Senator, and head on down to Washington DC!"

Maybe you're on to something here, Ken... ;-)

I wish everyone would ease up on this type of stuff. We still haven’t won this seat. We’ve got to hope the people in MA get out and vote for Brown tomorrow.

Nothing wrong with a little planning ahead and getting creative on ken5050's part. You don't plan your life a bit based on likely sequences of events? You just react moment to moment? No investment strategy, never play board games, no baseball fan? There is only now? Geez!!
