Tiger Woods may not be bringing a lot of money into the coffers of Buick, Gatorade or Gillette these days, but his highly publicized cheating scandal has helped popularize computer monitoring software such as the highly rated WebWatcher from Awareness Technologies. But Tiger Woods isn’t the only reason computer monitoring software sales have surged. Here are a couple other incidents that prompted employers, parents, spouses, boyfriends and girlfriends to download WebWatcher or some other computer monitoring software:

I've always heard "trust but verify" and believe it is sound advice.

Warning: I'm a Webwatcher affiliate. Had to say that because the Obama FCC would be after me otherwise.

I just wish we could load this software in the White House or on the computers of some high ranking Dems. That's the only way we'll get transparency from this admin. : )

That’s true. Unless you have some savvy kids like one I let borrow my laptop at Starbucks once. Never will do that again. In a matter of seconds that kid wiped clean the history, all cookies etc. Really messed me up that evening. I will never let someone borrow my computer again like that...and I was just trying to be nice.

Why would they not just use a netbook or smartphone with wireless anywhere?

It is good to keep porn off of company owned computers, and this will reduce exposure to viruses, but an employee wasting company time on porn or affairs could just circumvent the need for using the company equipment.

Fairly cheaply.
