Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab was named in a file of people based in Britain who had made contact with radical Muslim preachers. The file was sent to the US authorities in 2008.

I've always said that we are safer after 9/11, not because of anything government has done, but because Americans will no longer go quietly to their deaths. But if the TSA is counting on that fact, then why bother with the rest of their pointless security measures?

See the layer all the way on the bottom? Passengers? While the passengers should be vigilant, and self preservation is a great motivator, in the end, the TSA is relying on Amateurs to save the day. Well, what do we need the TSA for?

Oh, cool, so WE are part of the Security System? Where’s MY paycheck, TSA?

If I work for TSA, then I need tools: a taser gun, a gun, duct tape, handcuffs, and permission/ authority to profile.

If we see the administration giving unwarranted plea bargains to terrorists, can we be part of the justice system by having summary trials and executions on the airplane before landing?
What happens when one of those layers, the aircraft crew, sees something suspicious like the "Flying Imams" on US Airways who requesting unnecessary seat belt extensions for some reason and refused to sit in their assigned seats but instead spread through the cabin. They were removed from the plane, but then put back on the plane. The flight crew refused to fly them so had to be replaced too. Is that part of this well oiled machine of air security?
