Could someone post something similar for the Droid? I’ll be purchasing one in a few days.

Thanks in advance!

For the life of me, I don't understand the fascination with these childish "apps" for cell phones.

I bought a Droid phone about 6 weeks ago and the sales girl talked to me for 10 minutes about all the "apps." I finally had to stop her and ask, "Does it make phone calls?"

For the life of me, I don't understand the fascination with these childish "apps" for cell phones.

There's a lot of useful stuff out there.

We keep our grocery lists on ours. It even remembers what aisle things are in.

Tom-Tom GPS application? It's available, and it's free.

My personal favorite is the Pandora radio app. Like a particular artist or genre of music? Just type it in and Pandora starts finding songs for you. If you like their choice hit "Thumbs Up" and it finds more. If you don't, hit "Thumbs Down" and it finds something different. That's way cool if you're working and just want some background music to go for a couple of hours.

We love the Redbox Movie Rental application. It finds the movie you want, tells you which Redbox in your area has it, and reserves it for you. A real time saver, that one.

Dragon Dictation is another one I use very frequently.

Believe me, once you start downloading and using them you'll wonder what you did without them.

I dunno, I appreciate the advice, but I think I get along just fine without my cell phone keeping my grocery list or telling me where I can rent a movie.

Different strokes for different folks I suppose.

I guess I don’t understand, either. I got an iPhone cause I wanted an address book, gps, seamless synching, applications, etc. I did that cause I was tired of carrying address books, not being able to synch with the computer, etc. If I’d just wanted a simple cell phone I would have gotten one of the free ones that comes with the plan. Why did you get a $200 phone with data plans that start at $80 a month with a $350 disconnect fee instead of a free phone with a $40 plan?

I like the mobile internet, that’s about it.

I can appreciate that. Don’t wall yourself off from the other stuff, though. The GPS and address book on my iPhone is terrific. I can’t speak to the Droid, but the usability of the features of the phone are what makes it great.
