The Anthrax Case Falls Apart

The vast anthrax investigation, code-named Amerithrax, ended as far as the public knew on July 29 2008 with the death of Dr. Bruce Ivins, a microbiologist/wiki/Biodefense at the United States Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases in Fort Detrick, Maryland, at the nearby Frederick Memorial Hospital. The proximate cause of death was an overdose of the pain-killer Tylenol. No autopsy was performed, and there was no suicide note. Less than a week after his apparent suicide, the FBI declared Dr. Ivins to have been the sole perpetrator of the 2001 Anthrax attacks, and the person who mailed deadly anthrax spores to the NBC, the New York Post, and Senators Tom Daschle and Patrick Leahy accompanied by a photo-copied warning. These attacks killed 5 people, closed down the Senate’s Office Building, caused a national panic, and nearly paralyzed the postal system. The FBI’s 6 year investigation of it was the largest inquest in its history, involving 9000 interviews by its agents, the issuance of 6000 subpoenas, and the examination of tens of thousands of photo-copiers, typewriters, computers, and mail-boxes.

As everybody knows by now Dr. Ivins wife was heavily involved in Right To Life issues. Without doubt she had more than average chance to actually have a copy of the newsletter of the "Jews for Life" organization.

The June 2001 issue carried a news article with the names and business address of Brokow, Daschle and Leahy. The addresses were formatted peculiarly ~ exactly as they would be written out on the anthrax letters.

An associate of mine at work had already noted the peculiar formatting. That demonstrated the use of a particular address formatting program (based originally in CPM I believe, but updated for Office or a private program).

I took that information further and found the Jews for Life situation and reported it all to the FBI and USPS Inspection Service in great detail. (NOTE: Not that Jews for Life was guilty of anything ~ all they did was print a newsletter with peculiarly formatted addresses ~ Ivins, if guilty, picked up a copy from his wife ~ presuming she had one ~ and sent out the envelopes)

So, if it was Ivins, I gave the FBI the most critical clue they'd ever received WAY BACK IN 2002 and I want my $7.5 million reward.

They could have also saved that award they had to pay out as damages, and the $70 million they just threw away on fruitless searches.

If it's NOT really Ivins, they don't have to pay, but keep on looking.

Frankly I don't think it was Ivins, but the newsletter served as a source of addresses. I believe the people who did the attack intended to mislead the FBI to investigate Jews.

Didn't work. They credited the FBI with entirely too much analytical acumen!

Stupid Arabs anyway!

If Dr. Ivins had neither the equipment or skills to weaponize anthrax with silicon, then some other party, with access to the anthrax, must have done it. Even before these startling results, Senator Leahy had told Mueller , "I do not believe in any way, shape, or manner that [Ivins] is the only person involved in this attack on Congress." So, even though the public believed that the Anthrax case had been closed more in 2008, the FBI investigation was back to square one in late 2009.

I've never believed this was done by an American.
