It is frustrating that too many Dem Senators occupancy GOP leaning states. We shouldn’t be just targeting Ben Nelson. We should be holding the feets of Stephine Heresth, Bayh, Lincoln to the fire in 2010. Then in 2012, go gunning after Casey, Webb, McCaskill, Webb, and Bingham.
Too often, we let vulnerable Dems distance themselves from the national party line by allowing to use the “I’m bipartisan and independent line.”
Well, Herseth-Sandlin is in trouble. We’ve got a first tier opponent in Sec of State Chris Nelson, and polling data indicated it was very competitive. I still can’t believe Mike Rounds gave Tim Johnson a pass in ‘08, he was very vulnerable, especially over his health. Johnson had no business running for reelection, period. I thought I read that Mike Pence might challenge Bayh. We have a decent enough challenger in ex-Congressman John Hostettler, but Pence would be far stronger.
Jeff Bingaman? You think he’ll be vulnerable?
