I don't know anything about this blog.

Put out by a active, well informed guy who runs a local Fargo talk radio show in the evenings. Rob Post is a reliable conservative.

The only explanation that I can think of is that a lot of North Dakota Republicans love their home towns so much, they can’t stand the idea of living in DC.

I just remember the nephew or son of Cong. Earl Pomeroy calling the Rush Limbaugh Show. He was a Rush baby.

Without the source I have to indeed take it with a grain of salt.

But this is terrific if accurate and may mean Herseth next door is in deep trouble. It would be a great day for the Dakotas to take out Pomeroy, Dorgan, and Herseth.

Jeff Bingaman? You think he’ll be vulnerable?

New Mexico’s margin of victory for Gore & Bush were nail biters. Jeff Bingaman could be vulnerable if the national mood goes against Obama in 2012. Long time politicans were brought down when the political climate turns hostile to the party brand. Jusk ask Santorum, Allen, Daschle, and Birch Bayh.

NM’s GOP is in a terrible state of affairs right now. Even if we win back NM-2 with ex-Rep. Steve Pearce (which I expect we will), we’re at a real disadvantage with respect to a farm team of first-tier candidates who could challenge Bingaman. Pearce won’t likely go for it after his disappointing run for Domenici’s open seat. I’d be surprised if Heather Wilson did, either. Everyone else is going to be second-tier or purely desultory. Only other name I can think of is the departing U.S. Attorney Greg Fouratt, one of only a few Dubya appointees that were retained by Zero (Fouratt replaced the grossly incompetent David Iglesias).
