You may have noticed that others have responded to your post in a way perhaps you didn’t anticipate. Although your screen name indicates that you’ve been here longer than I have you lack appreciation of the culture here, an understanding that can only be obtained through time, observation and, ultimately, participation.
As to judging you, I and all the rest of the FReepers are here on a private forum to do just that- to judge the posts that are put up and to comment on them.
Face it. You tried a scummy little tabloid marketing exploit based on the supposed death of a local hero and it backfired on you. Tough. Learn to market yourself better. For one thing, know your audience. Even a ministry tries to be successful and effective and not make catastrophic PR failures in public.
Don’t seek reactions from your posts then blame your audience for your own missteps when it goes all wrong.
And redirecting traffic off of the Free Republic site and onto your own blog is something that has only recently been allowed - as an experiment IIRC - and the jury is still out as to how long this will be allowed to continue. Some of us want it the old way with no blog pimping allowed.
We have as much right to protest blog pimping as you have to pimp your blog.
Pimp away.
So it is in your opinion. in my opinion it is not. It was a political humor post with an errant but corrected title. I admit to and accept that. And that is all. Not a catastrophic PR failure since most sensible people got the humor in the original post (which, I'm curious if you ever even saw?).
I don't think it is a case of a lack of appreciation of the culture I think it is a lack of a sense of humor as in post #9 and an over inflated devotion to a public figure. It may seem to you "local hero" but it verges on "celebrity worship" if you can't get past a facetious headline about news every olready knew about. Those who did, got the humor.
Since I am doing nothing wrong linking to my articles and since many other people also link to theirs your protest is falling on deff ears at this point wouldn't you say?
