The era of the Mans Man is coming ever closer to ending. Soon it will be acceptable for all men to see a film and let it truly effect them emotionally. But that time isnt upon us just yet. These are the top ten movies that not only make men cry, but it is deemed acceptable for them to do so.
10. The Wrestler
9. Saving Private Ryan
8. Braveheart
7. Field of Dreams
6. E.T. The Extra Terrestrial
5. The Shawshank Redemption
4. Friday Night Lights

Beach Blanket Bingo!
Oh, good. I wasn't the only one. That was one of the many, many reasons that that movie sucked so much worse than the original.
I cried all morning September 11 once I realized what was going on. I was unemployed at the time and had nothing else to do.
I concur about “Its a Wonderful Life”—see my post #75.
My daughter just told me that Jason Bay signed with the Mets, so this is a depressing moment in Red Sox Nation. Still think Fenway is a poor joke.
Asked my husband about this list, he laughed.
He said the only movie that ever brought tears for him was Brian’s Song.
I have the TV version! With Joss Ackland as C. S. Lewis and Claire Bloom as Joy. Absolutely heartrending.
ET? This is satire, right? ?
Radio - Cuba Gooding Jr. was outstanding. Ed Harris was great.
Thank you, Jim! I thought I’d get pounced on for that, LOL!
IMHO, crying is for girls. Women can cry, but it had better be for the same reasons stated below. Too many women use tears as a weapon and a manipulative way to get something they want. Feh!
Men can cry at funerals and weddings and at the birth of their children and at the destruction of their Nation.
And, that’s it. :)
Brian’s Song.
When the kid turns his back and starts walking toward the barn will STILL make you cry - I gurandamntee it. I've got a heart of stone, but Flight 93, Rudy, and when they take Dumbo's mom away get the ole screen blurry every time.
One movie that teared me up was “The Elephant Man”.
Spot On!
Hotel Rwanda
Life is Beautiful
Schindler’s List
I don’t know if I cried during any of them, but they all invoked a strong reaction.
Try watching “The Elephant Man” without sobbing your guts out.
“We Were Soldiers” when, at the end of the battle, Col. Moore told Joe Galloway that he was sorry his boys died and he didn’t.
And the scenes of the telegram deliveries back home were apparently poorly photographed as they got very blurry — especially the black trooper’s wife. Wow.
That’s most of it Diana. Anybody who didn’t cry at United 93, well, I don’t know what to call them.
“An Old Spanish Onion” (1935) and “Onionhead” (1958) should be added to the list.
I still can’t bring myself to watch the last 10 minutes of “Braveheart.”
