Maybe he switched so he can vote for Healthcare and they’ll be able to call it bipartisan.

I had that same thought.

Pookie18 found more info. See post # 15.

It appears a Republican candidate is already running against Griffith, and Griffith’s poll numbers are low. So, just as you said before, it looks like he is switching parties to keep his seat.

Merely put 2 links together that were posted by others & posted them to several threads. Appears to be an Arlen Spectacle in reverse...

We have several relatives who are doctors in Alabama in Griffin's district. This is a reply I got from the retired one upon the news about Rep. Griffin:
I'm glad to hear that Parker Griffin Is doing that. I know Parker as I had him over to our Hospital in Hartselle as the speaker at one of our meetings when I was Chairman of the Board. I have never known how he really stood in this health care bill but I know that nearly every one around here is against it. Parker had a tea party meeting on the phone about two weeks ago and (our daughter) was on the phone with him. She tied him up on the phone for about 20 minutes and she never got a really yes or no on that bill, but he called her back a few days later and told her how he felt. I'm glad to see him change parties, and I hope a lot more of those democrats will do that too.
So much for how Parker Griffin's constiuents and colleagues feel back home.
