O’Reilly has been putting the Tea Party folks in the same extremist vein as the far left for months.

Defeat & purge the RINOs in the primaries. Rubio vs crist is a classic example.

Its a nice ideal but it ignores the fact that the GOP will do anything they can to manipulate races. In 06 we defeated the GOP's chosen RINO, in 08 the GOP stripped the conservative of money and left him to lose by 2%. This time the conservative is running again and the GOP shipped in a carpetbagger to run against him.

If the carpetbagger wins the primary I'll write someone else in and the GOP can blame themselves.

BOR who has trashed this website, maligned Sarah Palin, slandered the Swift Boat Vets and defended Dan Rather over the fraudulent Bush National Guard story is the last person anyone should be looking to for advice on anything political

He is capable of wreaking havoc on the Right, as is Lou Dobbs.

I know 99% of FReepers would see through them but outside our tidy group I’d be very worried.

gives an undeserved PASS to the left.

Yep, just compare his interview with Palin against the interview with Obama, O’Reilly was clearly more tough on the Lady

This article is proposing O’Reilly as a founding leader of the movement. That is not simply “joining”.

My response is no. If this movement continues to succeed it will be because people like O’Reilly do not lead it.

Cripplecreek, wish I could agree with you; however, third parties just split the vote...remember Ross P. got Bill Clinton elected...Clinton never got 50% of the vote. Also, the ATTITUDE of ‘I’ll write-in and the GOP be damned’ is what turned the Congress over to the Demoncraps and got 0bozo elected.

Incorrect. What the communists need is the GOP in its current useless state, run by dolts and manned by statists.

Virginia Ridgerunner is on the mark. O'Reilly is all about one thing: cash flow. If he is beginning to speak positively about the protesters and a possible new political party, it is because he has seen the trend and recognized its potential impact to his cash flow.

Did you people learn NOTHING from the implosion of Perot's reform party in the late 1990s?

If you cannot get Conservatives/Libertarians organized enough to take back the GOP which all ready agrees with most of the Tea Party platform, what insanity makes you think you can do the much more difficult work it takes to organize a viable political movement?

American History shows 3rd parties are silly waste of time and effort.

Here is the problem with every 3rd party movement. You all are gung ho for a 3rd party until that party has to take a serious stand on an issue. Then the 3rd party factionalizes because some want to take this side and others that side. So being dogmatic purists, the 3rd party splits into a 4th and then 5th and then 6th party as each faction decides, in typical dogmatic fashion, to find a party of “purity”.

There is no pure perfect party in politics. Never has been.

IMO, BOR has worn out his welcome among the conservative faithful. His claim to fair and balanced is hanging by a thread, as he regularly excuses the actions of this pretender in the WH and others on the left...all in the name of “accuracy” and “fairness”.

He can keep his distance from the Tea Party folks and watch from the sidelines where he is obviously most comfortable.

Sorry, a 3rd party WILL guarantee the socialists victory forever. That's a fact, Jack!

Our best hope is to clean out the GOP RINOs and establish a true conservative leader. Reagan did it. Sarah did it in AK and she can do it again for American conservatives.

Our first priority is to somehow stop the push of more communism before we fall into the abyss forever.

“Split the conservative vote down the middle...”

Or, maybe not. The conservative vote will migrate to the platform that best represents conservative values. It won’t be split. Now, I would agree that it might split the pubbie vote...but, then, they ain’t all conservatives, by any stretch of the imagination.

It’s time to take back the country.
