I’m not optimistic. It’s that I don’t see those things you ask whether I honestly see that worries me. In the long term the entitlements are unsustainable. It isn’t me that has to possess the numbers you mention — only that WE have them. Unless we move, we have to exist here. We can either choose to hold to our principles or give up.
Maybe I should explain why I wrote and posted this thread. I was reading the posts on Jim Robinson’s thread

and someone replied to a post that if you don’t know whatever, GOOGLE IT!
And blood shot out of my eyes. I was going to respond to that because my first thought was that this is exactly why and how most people who shout about doing something DON’T if it isn’t easy. Everybody on Free Republic knows that google is as left as it gets. They just honored the anniversary of Soros’s esperanto origination, but they won’t honor Veterans Day or Independence Day. They censor Conservatives at the drop of a hat and they invade your privacy every chance they get....BUT google is easy, and every time you use it, they get richer and bigger. And that is a trap. I won’t use it. There are other search engines that might not be as easy, but I am not giving google one cent. Period.
It’s a discipline and I am very concious of what I do at all times. There are few, (and getting fewer,) actors I will watch in a movie, and I don’t care how good the movie is supposed to be or what a great actor someone is. They will not get my time, let alone my money. My time is valuable. I do not squander it. I walk the walk.
You want to fight what google stands for, but every single day people post links to YouTube. I don’t go there so I never see what the links are to no matter who sends it or who posts it. That is NOT the way to do battle with an enemy. You do not patronize and you do not fraternize with an enemy who uses YOU against YOU.
ESPECIALLY when you KNOW it.
I just caught myself being a hypocrite. I use gmail as my contact mail. I am about to change that asap. Sorry. Really.

Being Jewish, I have seen far too many images like this. I suspect it is why I am so determined to make sure that such a thing never, ever happens here. If anyone wants to disarm me, they will have to cut off my arms to do it AFTER I am dead. Literally. Because as long as I can fire, I will.
As GOD is my Witness, if no one answers the call; if no one will stand as a force and fight, I will fight alone and protect what is mine.
Failing to fight only insures images like these might very well be seen in this land. Perhaps even worse if the muslims rise up against us.
I expect violence and with this senate vote, I see it even sooner than I did before. It will begin in the cities where those who believe they are entitled to some kind of revenge will become emboldened and angry when they can’t pay their rent or mortgage, when food and other necessities become scarcer. They will not blame the government. They will blame us for still having something while they have nothing and never worked for anything in the first place.
This time, between now and election day, 2010, Is probably the most dangerous time I can imagine in American history. If violence begins, what follows will make the Civil War look like a walk in the park.

I first joined the National Guard at the ripe old age of 16, that was 1954, I transferred to RA served a hitch got out and finished my tour i th3 Navy in 1965 I made three tours, to the gulf of tonkin, that entailed many trips to Yankee Station. I saw the futility of the battle we were waging, and flew out of clark field in July 1965, I regretted thet we let so may people die because of traitoris politicians but I was but on tired Stew Burner doing his bet to keep the grunts well fed and ready for the hard days we faces.
I thank God for the privilege of Serving with some of he finest men in the world, women cam a little later, maybe I would have adjusted maybe not.
All I know is, am now 71 years old and not of much use in a military capacity, but I can blog, and I can darn sure read and understand.
I clearly believe we are interring a battle like none other, not of flesh and blood, but a spiritual battle. If I am wrong I expect to be crushed under the tank treads of the first occupation tank forces.
I have neve had a death wish, but I always knew that one day God could call me for a service, and I would answer, whether the out come be death, or life. So get ready, I expect my first mandatory end of life appointment to be more scary for the interviewer that to me.

You are so very right. This is the quintessential battle between good and evil. The fight is for our very souls and hope for the souls of the helpless around the world who never saw freedom, who never had a chance because they were born to slavery and know no other way.
The taste of freedom cannot be glossed over lightly, and woe unto those who had it firmly within their grasp and chose, for whatever reason, to cede it to the evil amongst us.
Men have always sought to control other men. Control is not leading. A leader is the first to do that which he expects of others and does not abandon them but stands with them foursqusre.
If GOD be judging us now; if this be truly the final test, I will be there, and I will be there unafraid. There is a saying that you cannot give away what belongs to GOD because you will have to buy it back with blood. Those who willingly chose to give away what GOD gave us have doomed us to this payment and I fear the price will be high indeed.

Jim has stated he will boycott CPAC because of GOProud’s sponsorship. CPAC isn’t going to help us and they have lost most, if not all of their credibilty.
The senate has screwed us over royally and still, everyone wanders around as if they are in a daze. WHAT is is going to take, for GOD’S Sake?????????
A wise fellow said some months back: "Pray and work for the best; but prepare for the worst." It seems I've been doing just that since November of 1992, but it helps to get reminded.
There are some very practical things everyone can be doing regardless of the DC circus. Winter is here, the economic outlook is uncertain, and we might have elections in the coming year. So here's my priority list:
1) Keep food and basics stocked up in case of a winter storm.
2) Have a winter survival pack whenever I'm away from home.
3) Keep working as if there is a future to pay for.
4) Keep pretending there is a political process that requires my participation.
5) Be prepared to adapt if minor changes occur, such as a complete economic meltdown, civil war, revolution, foreign invasion, genocide, or other such inconvenience.
6) Last, but most important, stay in touch with family and close friends.
P.S. Pray for military intervention or devine intervention. I do, every day.
First, thank you for your passion and desire to bring this and other topics to the table. I have read some profoundly moving posts in this thread. The bottom line is as you said, “Beware of easy. Easy is a trap.”
This is my nature, the easier, softer way. But I know that I will stand up and do what is right one day when called upon. I am fortunate, I have been tested before so I am confident that I will act.
I told my children in an e-mail today that they will be called upon someday soon. Be ready, don’t be surprised, and do not say, “I can’t.”

Rush’s whole show today was filled with things like this. He is almost advocating what I have posted here. He says all else has failed and was taking calls from people who, like on FR, are at the end of their ropes and trying to figure out what to do.
I was a little surprised by some of the things Rush said today because he is also frustrated. There must be action. Words don’t work anymore. The communists and socialists in congress have mounted a successful coup d’tat.
We have gone over the edge already and the momentum at which we are falling is becoming breathtaking. This is suicide by any other name.
Thank YOU for the kind words of encouragement. Right now, We the People can use all the good wishes and prayers we can get. I pray constantly, but lately, my prayers are so much more urgent. I ask only for courage and wisdom.
I too am hopeful that when push comes to shove, the Free people of this country will want to keep it so badly, that they WILL rise up in great numbers. It seems to be the only thing left. Our political parties have betrayed us and our greatest enemy now sits in the highest seat in the country.
Now, we must whisper amongst each other because when we shouted, no one listened.
Merry Christmas. Make it the most beautiful and meaningful Christmas you and your family have ever had. Fill it with love as if there is no tomorrow. Stop time for that day. Keep it with you always in your heart. It might help when things seem dark and remember that it is always darkest before the dawn.
