Now that we know that the Democratic leadership in Congress and the Obama Administration have bribed Senator Ben Nelson into supporting the government takeover of healthcare, the question arises, who ARE these people, anyway?
Are they aliens from outer space? They certainly don't act like normal human beings who are fully aware of reality.
Senator Ben Nelson, for example, will vote in favor of the mammoth, debt-busting monstrosity in spite of the fact that in the latest poll Nebraskans indicate by a 61% majority that they will vote against Nelson if he votes in favor of this bill.

Socialists/communists/fascists
You just defined a politician.
It's dashed peculiar.
Which is why I think they are quite literally staging a coup and destroying our constitutional republic in the hopes of setting themselves up as a type of aristocracy ruling a nominal communist dictatorship. We will be serfs. They will be our masters.
They will fail, but the death toll will be high. Serious.
I can just hear DavidA or RahmE whispering to Ben Nelson, "Ben, what sounds better, a life as a defeated Senator which we will insure if you don't vote our way, OR our full support in your campaign and the assurance of 'Ambassador Nelson' for maybe the Vatican if the election goes bad.... ?"
Copy appropriately for those who waver!
Nelson is a traitor to the nation. He is worse than Judas and Benedict Arnold put together. He sold out his country for a few perks for Nebraska. What does it profit a man to gain the whole world but lose his soul—but for Nebraska, you have to be joking.
Continue with Julian Jaynes, who explained it on the psychological level all so distinctly.
In a way they are aliens, like the Borg, alien to the mentality of individual consciousness first clarified by the ancient Greeks - philosophy, literature, theatre, math, science, all which manifested individual self-awareness so absent in the middle-eastern bicameral civilizations.
We are speaking of two entirely, entirely, different ways of viewing human commerce. The Old Testament and the New.
Johnny Suntrade
The only way that I can see for Nelson to agree to this is if he was given assurances that he needn’t worry about re-election. In other words, I fear that we will look back on 2008 as the last free election held in the former United States of America.
