Video: Chavez Targets ‘Terrible Ghost’ of Capitalism & Obama in COP15 Speech!

The Australian: President Chavez brought the house down. When he said the process in Copenhagen was “not democratic, it is not inclusive, but isn’t that the reality of our world, the world is really an imperial dictatorship…down with imperial dictatorships” he got a rousing round of applause. When he said there was a “silent and terrible ghost in the room” and that ghost was called capitalism, the applause was deafening. Editor's Note: At the end of the clip, Chavez takes a swipe at Obama, saying: "I don’t think Obama is here yet. He got the Nobel Peace Prize almost the same day as he sent 30,000 soldiers to kill innocent people in Afghanistan."

Hope this makes the nightly news. But since our news is censored by a government media complex all bets are off.

Since capitalism is actually just "free markets" and that is really just "freedom to buy and sell OR actually just freedom", I don't think those who applauded Chavez comments denigrating capitalism are actually clear on what it is they hate (about capitalism).

I think what they actually hate is not freedom itself but America.

The reason they hate America is that America has demonstrated that the best system for human organization and achievement and economics is "meritocracy".

European babies who have been pampered and seduced by state socialism into believing that they don't have to try to by their BEST don't want compete.

They don't want a meritocracy! They want the easy way out and to be shown that such a way (socialism) is inefficient and less (far less) than optimal...is the ultimate insult to their softness and adolescent view of reality.

Socialists and Marxists promise the world a social plantation wherein the inhabitants never have to grow up. It is a kind of neverland (actually Netherworld) in which they, upon adulthood, simply swap the parents for permanent state guardians.

That kind of existence will never work in America...so the rest of the world will just have to go on hating us!

You have hit the target on this. America’s success points up the lack of success in other countries. This absolutely galls them, so they must come up with some excuse as to why they are not doing better. The easiest excuse, and lie, is that they are not doing better because America is keeping them down.

I am always surprised at how the Left dresses up Socialism as somehow good for the poor and less fortunate.

The Left somehow thinks the poor are incapable of improving their lot and need to be treated like farm animals.

On the other hand, a Meritocracy says to the Poor, "take a training course at the local technical school, learn a trade, make a living...RISE UP OUT OF POVERTY!"

I have noticed that laziness only exists where there is a free ride.

Any videos?

This is the only time I would like to hear this jacka$$, Chavez. (I turn him off every time he comes on like I do with Obama and friends and what I did with Bush and friends as well as I did with Clinton, relatives, and friends. Oh yes, and I also turnoff many congresscrooks and all left wingers. (Did I leave anybody out?)
