Here is video of Minnesota Democrat Sen. Al Franken slamming GOP Sen. John Thune from the Senate Floor over remarks Thune had made about the Democrats' Government Health Care Bill. Thune and Franken went back and forth over whether any benefits from the bill would begin as soon as it is passed, or whether nothing really begins flowing until 2014.
Franken comes across as a total jerk in the video, as he rants and raves. . . . (VIDEO)

So isn’t this the state that also gave us Jessie Ventura who is now saying 9/11 was a conspiracy? And who was the guy from Ohio?
good post.
Sorry to say.
Very disheartening.
Ditto. My first thought was that he was drunk as a coot!
I guess the $10 Billion "reinsurance" dollars going to the unions health care funds would be spent immediately. So would any money promised to SEIU and Acorn. All of the funding that goes to their pet constituents would go out right away. It is those pesky benefits that help every day Americans that have to wait three years to kick in.
So, he was just being himself, then!
Unless you're writing a book about Rush Limbaugh.
Or counting votes in Minnesota.
Let's not forget that Franken is in the Senate only because of cheating in the vote count on the part of his Dummycrat buddies in Minnesota.
We shouldn't give a darn when the "benefits" kick in. Franken (and Thune by trying to debate him on it) are just obfuscating the impending disaster awaiting the country. The issue should be that the 'Rat bill will bankrupt the country and ration health care to the point where the citizens' health will suffer, not the chronology of the inevitable tragedy.
Thune should just say NO, NO, NO instead of engaging Franken in the minute details of the asinine bill.
Does anyone know what cuts they’re making to medicaid, via Franken stating that benies are starting right away. Does that mean immediate denial of certain treatments if you’re on medicaid?
I like the idea that someone came up with that the Republicans should all walk out and go home. Just go home and talk to the folks back home. Let the rats sink all by their selves. That would be the most dramatic thing for the minority to do; get the heck outa dodge.
The guy from Ohio is a real winner too. not.
Not a very good idea. It would project an image of sore losers walking out on their jobs that they were elected to perform. (The 'Rats in the Texas state legislature did exactly that a few years ago.)
They are better served by using tactics like the parliamentary maneuver that Sen. Tom Coburn (R-OK) pulled off today by asking the Senate parliamentarian to read Bernie Sanders' (Socialist-VT) 700+ page amendment. That served as both a delaying tactic and a means of showing the public how oppressive Sanders' extensive proposal was.
In 2003 they fled to Oklahoma to hide out in a hotel, and Tom DeLay ‘may’ have used Homeland Security to track them down. It was a laughingstock.
I'm thinking they tried it a second time...

I’m back
Stuck on the phone with Miami
