Is Chris Dodd About To "RETIRE" ? (Would The Democrats Like Him To?)
CQ/The Lid ^ | 12/15/09 | The Lid

Chris Dodd has has a pretty bad 18 months,With each day Senator Chris Dodd's hold on the Senate seat he has held for almost 30 years grows more tenuous. As the Chair of the Senate Banking committee he deserves a share of of the blame for the economic mess we are in now, on top of that, are the recent scandals in which he has been involved.

...At the same time all of these scandals have been happening, Chris Dodd has been the dutiful democrat, pushing through the Porkulus and a key player on healthcare. The problem is that Connecticut voters are not stupid, and they also don't like to be lied to. Additionally, Connecticut is home to many insurance companies, Dodd's health care plans may be a death knell to a major industry in his home state further alienating voters from the Senator.

So it leads to a key question. Is Chris Dodd going to throw his hat in the ring, or retire to that nice cottage in Ireland, that he bought with a "Special Loan?"

If Dodd is doing as poorly as they say, or is about to retire, you certainly can’t blame the Republicans who had the perfect opportunity to hang (and rightly so) much of this banking mess around his neck and the neck of Barney Fwank, and haven’t even bothered trying. No fight in the GOP.

I hope they all retire in shame and move out of the country before the treason trials start.

The best possible outcome, for his state and for our country, would be for him to retire involuntarily.

We recently bought a home at 5% interest. I’m sure Dodd got a better deal with his *FOA loan.

It wouldn't surprise me considering he is facing growing opposition and may not feel the need to run for reelection if the unconstitutional, socialist health care passes. These socialists are willing to sacrifice their careers to convert the country into socialism.

He will retire with a huge benefits package paid for by the taxpayers and will be giving a cushy job by his fellow socialists.

There is NO WAY the democrats will let him run. He is total toast, and they will blackmail him into retirement: Quit or we will unleash the prosecutors.

Nothing could be easier for Rahm Emanuel... just a few phone calls.

Buh, Bye Friend of Angelo!

The fuzzy head is also predictive of cold winters.

My theory is........ that looking at democRATS who have retired? but gone on to other things...I think that these people know that the govenment will be gone if they get their way and therefore the Congress will be irrelavant and they are already planning for the “cushy” positions in the new regime that are promised and could care less about any elections in the future.
