The Conan visit was fun the best part was that we had Wounded Warriors with us in the audience. I cant express how proud I am of their courage and patriotism.
Im extremely happy that Laura Ingraham had the great idea to put the simple coat from the cover of my book to good use. Its being auctioned to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project and the Fisher House. Laura pulled it all together with a live auction that continues through December 18th. Click here to see the auction and God Bless the U.S.A!

Hi onyx! Go Sarah go!
You betcha!
Not to my knowledge...I read her columns all the time, and I didn't register. You probably have to register to post commentary or to post to her Facebook account directly.
That's exactly why Bush's amnesty push was so wrong. Most of the country learned from Reagan's well meaning mistake of immediate amnesty and secure borders... maybe... someday... never.
Bush was stupidly quadrupling down on known failure.
Hold on a second... while I disagree with what Bush wanted.. he did want SIMULTANEOUS tightening of borders with amnesty.
Still wrong .. but was not “Some Day”...
Also.. Bush provided the SINGLE BIGGEST build up of the Border Patrol in the history of our Republic.
Not saying GWB was perfect..but he was one of the MOST conservative Presidents we have had... PERIOD!!
I don't want to drag this out, I'll leave you the last word, but...
We told Bush for years "secure the borders first" THAT would have been "SIMULTANEOUS" since signing a law granting amnesty requires only seconds while it requires years to put fences, tools and manpower in place to truly secure the borders.
Bush would have no part of "secure the borders first" until too late in his administration when he halfheartedly made a show of trying to secure the borders.
If Bush would have deigned to listen to fellow Republicans earlier in his administration and truly secured the borders, I don't think there is any doubt that Congress would have passed a worker plan and a bit of amnesty, but Bush was intent on ramming amnesty and a promise of secure borders down his base voters' throats.
That's how Bush got to a 26% approval rating, no Democrat approval, no independent approval and he alienated about a third of the Republican voting base.
Very good post.
I disagree on what Bush wanted but his muddled communication on that issue cost him.
I think he did not realize how much the base wanted to SEE the border secured.
I think he assumed that since he was sincere people would believe him. Problem is that while Bush was sincere, Congress was not
In any case, well reasoned post... thanks!
