There are very few brave politicians in the world. Most of them mince their words and tell you what they think you want to hear. Brave politicians are ones who speak their mind. They tell you exactly how they feel, consequences be damned. Iowa 5th District Congressman Steve King is among that rare breed.

And this is why the GOP is the GOP..they want the wrong people to shut up. Hey GOP, how about shutting up Lindsey Graham or McCain once in a while huh..or would that be too much to ask from you elitists
To allow these fat-cat insiders...deal-makers...big government "go along to get along" types to remain in the party does simply ENDANGER the nation.
If we cannot make the GOP a conservative party, we need to look elsewhere.
A party is either for smaller government and LIBERTY, or they are not.

Very true. But did RR run away from the Party like a spoiled child and start a new party? Of course not! He revitalized the GOP and made it the number one bulwark in the world as forceful opponent of international Communism and advocate of free market capitalism.
I have been fed up with the Old Party for quite some time and call them all the time to let them know. I urge FReepers to use the following # to let the GOP how you feel as well.

Steve King defended Rush on the floor of Congress regarding his NFL ownership issue....don’t think he’s a rino

That's odd. The GOP base wants THEM to shut up (and get out of the way).
Sarah Palin is way too smart not to get mixed up with a futile third party movement. She will never do it!
It’s not the Des Moines Register. That’s a liberal rag not fit for bird cage liner.
The Des Moines Examiner has done a great job, better than anyone, on the Huckabee clemency scandal and his lies.
>> The GOP must be purged and reconstituted.

Agree 100%, Reconstruct the GOP into a party that is a conservative / libertarian /constitutional party, if that fails then it is third party time. But reconstruction should be tried wholeheartedly first before we beat the third party drum. That is not to say we shouldn’t use the threat of forming a third party as leverage to help in reconstruction.
Don’t you think someone as outspoken as Glenn Beck would speak out if GOP leaders were really trying to muzzle his voice?
Sorry to say this is not going to stop. Will hurt our chances in 2010 and 2012. No one is 100% perfect on all issues. therefor "we will show the Republicans a a lesson".
:(
Am I the only one doubting this poll?
I mean, how many Congressmen would not know that Beck is not a Congressman?
The only reason that these fine folks have to speak up is because the GOP is too busy kissing the asses of the dems and WON’T speak up. Hey, GOP, do your fricken job and we wouldn’t have to do it for you. You better “get it” really quickly or 3rd party candidates will run you out of office too!
It helps to read the article to see why they want him silenced...it’s because he is actually standing up against Obama.
Speaking of Rush Limbaugh here is what he has said about third parties:
“But a third party is not going to do anything other but ensure the reelection of Obama and every other Democrat running for office.”

Of course, as usual, he is ABSOLUTELY RIGHT.
My God, if we fought the Democrats as hard as we fight with eachother, we might start winning elections again.
The "poll" quoted was from the left-wing National Journal and does not have a single sourced quote.
Quit promoting this phony "Republican split"... its a LIE.
Exactly. This was a poll of 65 ANONYMOUS senators/lawmakers. To tie for second place at 11% you only needed 7 such responders to say they were 'squeemish' about Sarah, Glenn, Michelle, Steve, etc. Big deal. You could probably guess who these 7 responders are.
p.s. If someone makes this list (i.e. Steve King), they are clearly NOT a RINO.
