Constipation is one of those topics few like to talk about, according to WebMD.com. If you've suffered from this problem, though, you know it can be both painful and frustrating. Almost everyone gets constipated at some time during his or her life. It affects approximately 2% of the population in the U.S. Women and the elderly are more commonly affected. Though not usually serious, constipation can be a concern.

Clif Bars are the key to regularity in our household, but I might just give raisins a try!

I recommend a daily dose of Kellogg's Bran Buds (at 13 grams of fiber). Additionally, it is a good idea to keep a bottle of Lactulose Syrup on hand. Lactulose syrup is a natural, non-digestible solution that is not absorbed by the body but pulls water into the intestines. It works (ask your doctor--it requires a prescription)!

I maintain a high fiber diet and at least once a month use lastulose syrup to completely clean my intestinal system.

As a doctor once said to me, "the modern diet and life are not conducive to regularity. For most folks, it is simply not possible to get enough fiber from vegetables and fruits...so eat a very high fiber cereal (in addition to veggies and fruits)."

One final note: Failure to regularly evacuate your intestinal system results in carrying around toxic garbage in your body. You know that letting the garbage build up in your kitchen is unhealthy...imagine the consequences of letting garbage build up in your body.

No problem for me, my wife likes the rasins for herself.
As to your doctors advice was that before the Dems took over? ;-)

Perhaps when the Rhino Republicans had some pull. The Dems seem to be able to throw the crap around pretty good. ;-)
