To further your point, Palin was picked by McCain for EXACTLY the reasons you list above. Palin was supposed to be the GOP answer to Obamania -- our own unqualified, not quite ready identity politics answer. I said as much in September 2008. The base bought it hook, line and sinker.
The more of us like Rick Moran, Cal Thomas and Jonah Goldberg that speak out on Palin, the more vile reaction we'll get -- but in the end, we must face the ugly truth about Palin. She ain't Reagan, she ain't Maggie Thatcher and she is not going to save the GOP... she can only destroy it. Or best case scenario she'll just go rogue and QUIT again... :)
