Glad to see Rumsfeld doing this. It is long beyond time that the targets of these unfounded claims fire back.

In his press briefing today, Gibbs was asked about Rumsfeld's challenge--He tap danced away. Just like Gobb's response on Climategate. "It's true because we say it is."

I am not aware of a single request of that nature between 2001 and 2006. If any such requests occurred, repeated or not, the White House should promptly make them public. The Presidents assertion does a disservice to the truth and, in particular, to the thousands of men and women in uniform who have fought, served and sacrificed in Afghanistan.
In the interest of better understanding the Presidents announcement last night, I suggest that the Congress review the Presidents assertion in the forthcoming debate and determine exactly what requests were made, who made them, and where and why in the chain of command they were denied.
Yes. I support Secretary Rumsfeld's call for a complete and thorough investigation of the president' statements. The ball is in obama's court. The clock is ticking.

Are Rumsfeld’s statements making MSM news?
Does the general public know he’s called Obama on an outright misstatement?

the democrats/media fail to see that situation changed in the past year when Taliban regroup. When 30k was enough many years ago, its not enough now

Just as Rush Limbaugh predicted. Obama threw more attacks towards the Bush Administration.

What Obama said has been said, it is out in the public.
It is what the left and the elites want to hear.
They can rummage through years of email and phone records, find or forge one minuscule message suggesting that more troops might be needed, or that more troops were not an administration priority, and, as with the birth certificate, Obama will be exonerated by definition.
I expect that, if history is a guide, Rummy will be in for some noteworthy bad publicity just to ice the cake.
