PROVE IT !!-Rumsfeld Says Obama's "Historical Claims" Were LIES

Unlike Vice President Dick Cheney, former Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld has been relatively quiet since he left office in 2006. But part of last night's speech got Rumsfeld hot under the collar:

When I took office, we had just over 32,000 Americans serving in Afghanistan, compared to 160,000 in Iraq at the peak of the war. Commanders in Afghanistan repeatedly asked for support to deal with the reemergence of the Taliban, but these reinforcements did not arrive.

The ever-polite Rumsfeld sent out a press release calling that statement a big fat lie:

What Obama said has been said, it is out in the public.

It is what the left and the elites want to hear.

They can rummage through years of email and phone records, find or forge one minuscule message suggesting that more troops might be needed, or that more troops were not an administration priority, and, as with the birth certificate, Obama will be exonerated by definition.

I expect that, if history is a guide, Rummy will be in for some noteworthy bad publicity just to ice the cake.

In the words of a famous General: I'm tired of hearing what the media/libs are going to do to us. It's time the media/libs hear what we are going to do to them.

We can't duck/hide/redact, etc what we believe because the media might misinterpret or spin those beliefs. They are going to do that anyway.

We must be true to our principles and convictions and speak them for the electorate to hear.

I haven’t checked to see if the mainstream news covered Rumsfeld’s remarks, but I assume they’ll get to it just as soon as interest dies down in the Tiger Woods saga, and they find out what happened to Amelia Earhart.

Understood, however I didn’t see Rummy’s statements as anything more than denouncing the falsehood of Bos statements.
As for the media...yes, in many respects they do affect perceptions of how the public sees, unfortunately. But of late we have all observed the public taking a stand via Tea Parties, The Manhatten Doctrine, Washington marches etc. Regardless of ones opinons on these, they are gaining momentum and would indicate the people are drawing their own conclusions despite medias biase. I believe in the American people and as the truth reaches their ears they do and will stand up.

It was relatively easy recognizing who’s Bo’s speech was about...as usual. But the more he plays to both sides of the aisle the deeper he sinks his own ship. His mentioning not wanting to hand over a war to the next Pres. was poppycock. His political moves are harder for him to disquise more and more. I rather like that. Sure he wants a victory for himself, he’s got to have something positive on his list of failures thus far. But it will never be his, he botched that by sitting on his decision for so long. Sarah certainly slammed that one home and won’t be easily forgotten.
