I love both Beck and Rush, but on this..... I side with Rush.

I don’t think that Beck shouldn’t be calling out the RINOs, but he could tone the”they are the same” rhetoric back a bit.

Both of these patriots are doing a great job at trying to help our country.

I suggest those who want to go the 3rd party route that they think it through. It is a long and costly process to form another party.....there are plenty already...pick one. As for me, I will work to fix the GOP.

That is not my point. The point is you stated that “we never had it” which is false.

Conservatives aren’t needed in the GOP until election day. That’s the way it works.

And the conservatives just don't get it. lol.

They keep voting for the same and expecting a different result.

The last time I checked, 40% was NOT a majority - a PLURALITY, perhaps, but most definitely not a majority.

True, but a large plurality of the population can easily become a majority of the voters in a general election.

Given the current voting intensity among conservatives versus liberals, I think landslide victories in 2010 and 2012 are quite doable.

Rush may just be trowing him a life preserver hoping he'll grab it.

I think you may be right.

I like Beck a lot, but I'm growing tired of his "no difference" mantra.

It's more than apparent that the Republican Party has been drifting away from its principles for some time now, and in that sense there is no difference on a multitude of issues.

But the framework is there and a return to its original philosophy is not impossible.

There's a healthy battle going on right now for reform from within and the situation is too perilous and time too short to attempt establishment of a viable third party at the moment. There are still some honorable and honest people left in the Republican Party.

when Perot gave us bubba and bubbette.

If 'read my lips' had more backbone, 'read my lips' would have won a second term.

Quit blaming Perot for Bush's failure. 1992 was Bush's to lose, and he did. He didn't even start campaigning until 2 weeks before the election. Later asked why he started so late, he responded that he was the incumbent and thought he would win anyway.

“Perot just added the gravy. “

Pullleaaazzeee....what kind of analysis that?

1992 vote
Nominee Bill Clinton George H. W. Bush Ross Perot
Percentage 43.0% 37.4% 18.9%

Considering Perot’s pseudo fiscal conservatism, which way do you think his voters would have broken if the nut dropped out? To Clinton?

Would Clinton have come back in 1996? My guess is no. Republicans would have faced Gore who is a freak and a terrible candidate.

They don’t want to destory capitalism.

So why did they vote for GWB's "farewell stimulus" then?

Why is a ridiculous, unconstitutional "government stimulus" deenounced as "socialist" or "marxist" when foisted upon us by democrats, but considered okay when perpetrated by "republicans"?

There are still some honorable and honest people left in the Republican Party.

Please name ten (10) "honorable and honest" people who are republicans and who hold national-level elected office (U.S. senate or U.S. house of representatives).

if the nut dropped out?

Why should he drop out? He had just as much right to be a candidate as anyone.

By claiming he should drop out, you basically say the 2-party system is sacrosanct. That is what the Democratic and Republican party leaders want you to believe -- because it benefits THEM and their incumbency.

So the Republican’s only senate amendment will greatly increase the cost of obama care. Big difference.

One of the most obvious, conclusions was the 2004 election.

Why didn't the GOP have any candidates to force GW to the right? Were was the 76’ Reagan?

I am wearing my asbestos suit. I disagree with Rush.

People here complain about Perot, but if he had stayed the course without his dropping out and returning, he would have been the second party or better and the republicans would have become the third party. Pity, he didn't stay under the hood and get the job done. I am willing to play with the republicans for another 3 years even though I am 63 years old this week. It has been high time for a conservative party, but many republicans would rather continue to be unrepresented than "risk" joining a third party.

The republican power players will do whatever they can to avoid people like Palin getting the nomination. IF she doesn't get the nomination or some other conservative, will those here be ready for a third party then? What will it take?

The GOP has no right or entitlement to be one of the two parties. Neither do the dems. It is time for the GOP to become the third party. A party of Rinos. Conservatism would best be served elsewhere.

I am tired of the rino's being elected or people like Bush wussing out on major issues like entitlements and illegal immigration.

“He’s incapable of criticizing any democrat without adding how terrible the republicans are too.”

Exactly! I admire Beck for standing up and telling the truth, but then he starts the nonpartisan stuff. I don’t think it’s making the libs like him any better.

So do I - I expect wide-spread victories for the republicn party. But I don't expect any major changes for the good to come of it; and I think that is what Mr. Beck is pointing out when he says the parties are essentially the same.

Having a few more republicrats in various elected positions may slow our descent into complete totalitarian government take-over of all aspects of our lives, but it will not do anything to halt it, much less reverse it.

The republicrats had a chance to make a REAL difference during the end of Clinton's 2nd term and during George W. Bush's 1st term. They failed on a monumental level. The federal government, and its associated budget, was MUCH larger when Obama took office than when GWB took office. So much for "small government" republicans, eh?

Exactly. Knowing Huckabee would take a pounding in 2012, they’ve done their dead-level best to anoint him as the top (R) contender.

Maybe Sarah Palin isn’t interested in the REPUBLICAN nomination; what if she actively seeks the nomination of a third party?? What say you then?

Democrat and Republican party pictured above. That is what "it" is.

That being said, I intend to support conservative GOP candidates only...for now.

If they don't get their **** together in 2010 and 2012, then I will be done with them forever.

Last chance, GOP.
