The data were gathered from weather stations around the world and then adjusted to take account of variables in the way they were collected. I keep seeing this explanation as to why the measurements could not be used as measured. Why should the measurements be adjusted according to the way they were collected?
I know the whole thing is a fraud but why is anyone accepting that this "adjustment" is necessary?

Data storage availability in the 1980s meant that we were not able to keep the multiple sources for some sites, only the station series after adjustment for homogeneity issues. Let's say 2 bytes for the temperature (far more accuracy than needed). Add a time code (1 byte each for year, month, date, hour and minute) and you have 7 bytes per sample. Even if you add other things like relative humidity and wind speed and direction you might get to a total of 16 bytes per sample. Do that once an hour for a year and you have about 140kB of data. You can then keep the data for a thousand stations for a full year on one of the magnetic tapes often used at the time (2400 ft, 6250 bpi). One nice sized shelf could handle decades of data from thousands of stations.

Obama looks to be on the road to impeachment. The unfortunate result of that would mean a president Biden. Both political parties are to blame. the democrats for foisting Obama and the moron Biden on America, the republicans for running such a lame non-starter in McCain. Neither party did any favors for America and may yet have proved to have conspired (intentionally or unintentionally) to it's downfall.

Ever notice how the supporters of anthropogenic global warming just ignore that big burning ball in the sky? Ever notice how they are almost universally historically ignorant in regard to medieval warming and cooling?
They’re just tyrants that want to force you to do things at the end of a gun, just like most people in congress.
Do all of these people think they’ll get a cushy job managing proles when the revolution finally happens?

Heck, if they had no qualms about dumping the data, why would dumping emails bother them?
Corrupt right to the core.
