I keep seeing this explanation as to why the measurements could not be used as measured. Why should the measurements be adjusted according to the way they were collected?
I know the whole thing is a fraud but why is anyone accepting that this "adjustment" is necessary?
I have been reading Christopher Horner’s excellent (and timely) book “Red Hot Lies”, and in it, he discusses the issues with temperature measurement.
For example, the placement and configuration of the “official” US temperature stations was highly variable. There was one station that had a air conditioning ventilation unit placed NEXT to it! Another one was placed over a blacktop asphalt pad, and another one had the enclosing unit painted all black. And that is just a few of them.
I highly recommend his book.
Some adjustment is necessary if you do something like change the measurement location. Consider that you were averaging 50° through the year, but then had to move the measurement equipment because the univerity decided a football field needs to be put there. If the new location averages 51° while other nearby stations keep their same averages, you should assume that the relocation caused the 1° shift. Without adjustment you would get a increase in the temperature. However, you should keep the original data allow other researchers to test your adjustment algorithm.
However, you should take any adjustments with a huge grain of salt considering that those doing the adjusting seem to have an axe to grind and the siting and location tracking of temperature recording equipment has been proven to be awful in the past couple of years.
For instance, a temperature reading taken in an urban area will be higher than one just 10 miles away in a rural area.
This is the real issue here, they are looking at things that sort of make sense to people. Most of whom do not recognize the difference between temperature and climate. They are not the same, though Al and his cabal of criminals have been doing what they can to make it appear that way.
They are deliberately trying to confuse and obfuscate the issues. Why? Because Global Warming is no longer occurring and they KNOW it. They have had to try and cover that issue up by falsifying the data, or their government grants and private funding get yanked and they are then out looking for a job gathering unemployment checks. Which is EXACTLY what should be happening.
Its a losing game, because eventually as wel have longer harder winters, cooler summers, it will be blatantly obvious that they are wrong. This is the SECOND time they have dome this, the first time was in the 70’s and 80’s when they freaked out about global COOLING. They just changed their tune.
It should be treated as a criminal matter IMHO, because with their false data they are literally ROBBING millions of people of not just their livelihoods, but of a significant portion of the GDP of several NATIONS. That is INSANITY. Just look at what Cap n trade has done to the economy of Britain and all the other Nations stupid enough or gullible enough to do it!!!
