A friend of mine sent me this story of his time in the Marine Corps. Read through to the end, its a shocker.
What strikes me most is what he said as to where he grew up: Indonesia. He told me he wanted to be President of the US someday. I remember lightly smiling and commenting that maybe by the time he gets to be 40 or so, America will be ready for a Black man to be President and I wished him luck. We spoke of the racial tensions I saw at home while growing up and I asked him if he ever saw that overseas or since he returned back to Hawaii. I dont remember his answer, but we spoke more of his time overseas and his thoughts on life and philosophy of government. He made some strange comments to me, it was obvious he never set foot for any time in the continental United States and I told him he better realize that he is making judgments about the United States when he himself never actually lived there. I told him, Hawaii aint the United States!
He also told me something that I never forgot, for it caused me to do some other things in an effort to be nice to him and possibly a favor. We spoke of where I had been and the world as I saw it. I told him I had been to Africa , Mombassa specifically, and he said to me abruptly, I was born there. I told him he is not eligible to be president if that was true, but I remembered he said his mom was an American, so, maybe it was okay.

You can? Just what issues are you pointing out?
I’m curious...
No.
It’s not a fake e-mail
“Thats me
seriously”
Marine, you needed a haircut!
How about the guy on the right, carrying the PRC-77...is he a poser, too?
You met Obama? You wrote this story? I'm confused...
I was an air winger, and that was 1980 or 81 and that is how long we wore it in Hawaii. :)
I got hurt several years ago
had 2 spinal surgeries, qualified for vocational rehab
going to college full time for electrical engineering
had to take a lit and comp class, seems the english and comp courses I took from 88 to 93 weren’t good enough, so...
Told this story to my professor, she asked for it in short story form
If you’re still awake, I’m still waiting for you to point out the inconsistencies...
I stopped right there. BS.
Race Thank you for being a True American Patroit!
I appreciate and respect your service and am sorry for my posting comment.
wanna bet?
Race, Since you been here since Since Aug 8, 1998 I believe you!
I dont doubt people are doubting it, I never went very public with it, I just wasn’t sure, I honestly dont remember the guys name and knowing it was a 30 year old memory, I just didn’t want to speak it
But, this is for a college short story, still in progress
but the facts are true, especially this part
I believe you.
But, most of all Obama believes you.
This is an old story. Saw it about 6 months ago or longer ago.
Doesn’t ring true. Remember Reagan’s admonition: “Trust, but verify”.
should be easy enough to check the liddy part. tom liddy lives in phx and is an attorney.
