A friend of mine sent me this story of his time in the Marine Corps. Read through to the end, its a shocker.
What strikes me most is what he said as to where he grew up: Indonesia. He told me he wanted to be President of the US someday. I remember lightly smiling and commenting that maybe by the time he gets to be 40 or so, America will be ready for a Black man to be President and I wished him luck. We spoke of the racial tensions I saw at home while growing up and I asked him if he ever saw that overseas or since he returned back to Hawaii. I dont remember his answer, but we spoke more of his time overseas and his thoughts on life and philosophy of government. He made some strange comments to me, it was obvious he never set foot for any time in the continental United States and I told him he better realize that he is making judgments about the United States when he himself never actually lived there. I told him, Hawaii aint the United States!
He also told me something that I never forgot, for it caused me to do some other things in an effort to be nice to him and possibly a favor. We spoke of where I had been and the world as I saw it. I told him I had been to Africa , Mombassa specifically, and he said to me abruptly, I was born there. I told him he is not eligible to be president if that was true, but I remembered he said his mom was an American, so, maybe it was okay.

When I saw those photos I said to myself they are taken with different cameras, but the guy was drawing fast to call them fakes. As I said before, we have a numbers of like-minded Soetoro cool-aid drinkers who by any means will post distractions from the real deal... the...N B C, killing the messengers instead of the message!!!
That is the reason that you need to stay in bed forever!!!

Since Jim brought up that he served in the military, Howard wondered if he chose that path in life because of his dads reputation of being a tough guy. Jim replied that wasnt the case and that he actually joined the Navy to help pay for college, noting as his father was in jail during that time.
Maybe he goes to the tanning shop just to look more black???
Remember like Mr. Snerdley says, he has not slave blood in him, but he want to be seen and heard as full-blooded black!!!
Dr. Fukino is trying her best!!!
I would think most folks would say this child is a mulatto. No? Matter of fact, he looks more like a white child with a summer tan in this pic.
“all my pics I have from 1980 or 81 are faded shots from a 110 camera. (Remember them?)”
Remember? I lost my youth to mine. Washed out pictures of dead deer and friends and good times.
If only we had sprung for the fancy 126 cameras.
I don’t know for sure, he was a few years behind me so I never knew the guy because I was already in college on the Mainland. I think he was Class of ‘79 if I remember correctly, 3 years behind my younger sister.
The first I heard of him was when he made Harvard Law Review editor. Then I think Punahou ran some sort of article about him in the alumni magazine, and there may have been some coverage in the local papers as well.
There were not many blacks in Hawaii in those days. There was only one black student in the Academy (equivalent to high school) when I was there. Had nothing to do with discrimination by Punahou; there just weren’t many blacks and those that were were usually in the military and their kids went to public schools near base.
So black kids were a curiosity. I remember there were at the time a couple at Iolani, which was and is Punahou’s rival in terms of academics.
I would have to say there was a lot of discrimination against blacks out in the community, not necessarily because of just race but because it was obvious they were “outsiders” (if they were white, they would be “haoles” who also got a lot of discrimination).
The thing that cracks me up about Obama is his phony black accent. There was no way he would have talked like that growing up in Hawaii, and especially at Punahou, where speaking proper standard English was insisted on and kids speaking pidgin or with a pidgin accent would be looked down on.
A couple of times when he was out here in Hawaii and got interviewed before he became quite so famous, you could hear him moving in and out of the accent, so it’s all learned. He can speak “white” if he wants to.
Can we be 100% certain that he wasn't taking Oxy class(es) in HI (or elsewhere) via some "Academics Abroad" program back in 80/81?

He was (is) a "worldly" fellow traveler after-all. IF he did go to Oxy, I can see him taking (at least some) courses away from the main campus that's in So Cal.
b.t.w. Race...I appreciate your story. I, for one, believe that you never intended it to be used in a court of law, nor to "make" the State Run Media news cycle. Oh, and yeah...I can easily understand how Barry would tell so many people he ran across in his early years that he wanted to be "president" someday. His ego and narcissistic behavior alone make that very plausible.
If you had been the person posting the story here and took credit for it, I may have viewed it cautiously and carefully, but not cynically dismissing it with a sarcastic handwave.
Thanks for the ping, LucyT.
Anyone remember the Dannae Birth Certificate?
I never called her a liar but carefully prodded her that her story seemed to improbable.
two months later she cleared everything up and I still consider her a great poster.
rxsid:
Maybe Barry O. pigmented darker as he got older? That picture looks more like the description in the story.
Nope...I'd be interested in the stroy.
FWIW...Freepers should question each other.
she came on to the birther posts saying she had ordered and recieved a replacement COLB in 2000 but it was stamped 2007.
So we prodded her to get better information on it. I forget why she even brought it up.
Anyway, she talks to her mother about it and it turns out, at the time, Danae had taken ill.
She completely forgot that she had ordered in 2007 not 2000.
She went so far as call Hawaii and get receipts just clear things up.
Receipts showed she had ordered them in 2007 and when the COLB was sent.
She is still a good poster around here.
He, to this day, still looks much more like a mulatto (or even latino), than a black man. Of course, that makes sense though as has been pointed out and we all know...he's mostly white and 2nd'ly of Arabic descent. So, by in large, his outwardly appearance matches that of his ethnic "make-up."
Michelle slipped up a while ago (last year?) and said he was born in Kenya.
