Because Evelyn refused to go to the second doctor's evaluation - they [ Adult Protective Serices ] ordered an Ex Parte emergency order to be taken to the nearest hospital. This was so they can isolate her as now her Power of Attorney (myself) and her care giver Dean can not have any contact with her - and she is hospital for the purpose of that second doctor's evaluation, court ordered and like it or not.
We have been getting letters of support, if you wish to offer words of encourgement or ideas, etc.
Evelyn S. C/O Dean Marinpietri PO Box 24524 Mayfield Heights, Ohio 44124
Consent or not for sure. Wards are stripped of all their own power and are at the mercy of courts and guardianship. The APS has brought out all their arsonal against a prideful Christian lady, who does NOT deserve this!
She is not there, YET (a ward or has a guardian) and she does NOT need this, but they sure are trying!
She had one evaluation with her own Dr. Byers and she passed with flying colors - and the second one is with court ordered doc, and paid for by the court,,,wonder who he will favor?

I’m sure I don’t need to tell ya. Welcome to ObamaCare!!!
So, who went to the judge?
Good question. I do not know. But whoever did should mind there biz. This woman is clearly capable of communicating & making decisions for herself. This is where we are all headed.
APS doesn’t need a complainant, I’m sure. They simply get a tip from someone (neighbor, medical staff, family, ANYONE), follow-up however they see fit, and then start filing all sorts of horse manure.
It can happen anywhere, not just an Ohio thing.
This one in Texas had a good ending as you can read. If you can call a year out of your own house a “good ending”.

What is she being evaluated for? And does she have a living will? If she doesn’t, she’s going to get medical treatment whether she wants it or not.
I doubt that very much. Child Protective Services never goes to a judge first, they just snatch the kid when in doubt. How is this different?

The second one is heartbreaking.
This poor woman wants to be home, has people who care for her regularly. She should be allowed to maintain her lifestyle. This makes me REALLY angry!
I’ve had two instances in my life where APS tried to act or FAILED to act. Thank God my father was an atty and spoke to the APS dude on the front porch. He told him that Mom was being cared for and that he wasn’t walking in the house without a warrant. END of STORY.
The other was when my dad’s sister needed to be taken care of after she had several “boarders” taking advantage of her. She refused medical care when she fell several times over two weeks. When my brother & I finally talked her into getting her hip checked out, the hospital nurse was very terse with me - told me it was “all under investigation” - That was when I told her that APS had been called no less than 5 times to help us (she had no children) and did nothing. Nurse’s tone changed IMMEDIATELY.
I can’t stand APS! They either interfere where they aren’t wanted or they do a half-a$$ed job!
I pray this woman is in her home for Christmas and that the person who “alerted” APS is incarcerated!
Yeah, I know how you feel. My dad currently takes care of his mother with dementia. She was moved to a retirement community closer to him so he could care for her, but medical personnel have already tried a few times to politely, but firmly suggest he take her to a nursing home. Luckily he’s stubborn like me. :)
