A lot of the posting about the CRU document hack revolves around how it will play in the press. There is a certain amount of cynicism that, because of the investment in AGW, the press and politicians tied to its cause will ignore or explain away the documents as best as possible. While I have no doubt that is true, I don't think it matters. What really matters is how the Climatologists and other Science Departments view it.
In 1908 the first fragments of the Piltdown Man skull were reportedly found. By 1912 the news of the discovery reached the popular press. While scientists outside of Britain were at first skeptical of the find, many were converted when, in 1917 it was announced that Piltdown II had been discovered.
The Piltdown skulls were of course hoaxes.

I’m not sure what a climatologist is, or what their connection to science might be, apart from government grants and university programs that depend on perpetuating the warming scam. A lot of scientists have embarrassed themselves and science by trying to dupe the world with this lunacy.
As a kicker, we were taught that the glaciers have been melting for at least 10-20k years, so what has happened to change that? Ice melts over time unless we are going into an ice age. Man made global warming is the same as Social Security, Medicare, welfare, and now the Health Care take over,.......POWER! They want to take over your life and dribble out benefits so you will vote for them perpetually. Just try to imagine you needing a hip replacement and the government says you can get a stainless joint instead of a plastic one if you for for the Dem. They have done this for decades in SS money and Medicare. Vote for me and I will get you $5 more per month.
Get Cap and Trade and get 5 gallons more per month tax fee for my vote. You can ride your moped 100 miles father. Won't you be grateful?

AGW is NOT a hard science. It does not make falsifiable predictions from theories and then test them.
They have a lot of work ahead of them to repair the reputation of their discipline, and that reputation will not be repaired by spinning more alarm out of vapor in the Sunday supplements.
Well, Andrew Revkin of the NY Times, who is involved as a media cheerleader for CRU in the referenced emails, has decided to move the goalposts, per Jonathan Adler at the Volokh Conspiracy:
The NYT’s environmental blog, Dot Earth, covered the disclosure of e-mails and other files from the University of East Anglia’s Climate Research Unit, noted that the files are available on various other website, but did not reproduce any files on its site. As Andrew Revkin explained in the post:
"The documents appear to have been acquired illegally and contain all manner of private information and statements that were never intended for the public eye, so they won’t be posted here."
Am I wrong in thinking that this is a change in policy for the NYT? Hasn’t the Grey Lady published illegally obtained documents on national security and other matters in the past?
Revkin's self-serving hypocrisy, masquerading as ethical journalism, is pathetic.

It’s one thing to gripe and complain about these things and disagree with it, but it’s quite another to convince your friends and neighbors and relatives and coworkers...
THEREFORE..., it’s also absolutely necessary for people to know the information in the following documentary. If there were simply one video that you could see and/or show people you know... this would be the one...
