Under the Senate bill approved to be moved to the Senate floor this past Saturday night it will be United States Preventive Services Task Force, deciding what tests and procedures getting covered by the government and private health care plans. The US Preventative Services Task Force is not a new agency. The Task Force is part of the Healthcare Research and Quality Agency (AHRQ). The task force is the 'bean counting part of the Dept. Health and Human Services. AHRQ's mission is to improve the quality, safety, efficiency, effectiveness, and cost-effectiveness of health care for all Americans. The Senate bill makes medical care a matter of cost-effectiveness, not saving lives:

Just heard on KSFO Brian Sussman’s show featuring guest Jack Cahill—AP has assigned two (2) fact checkers for a total of 4,000 plus pages and eleven (11) fact checkers for Sarah Palin’s book of 44 plus pages. (Don’t have time to find a link.)
Meant to say: Only two (2) fact checkers for the healthcare bill -—Sorry
Still, this just strikes me as a way to water down what our expectations of reasonable healthcare should be. What next? Are they going to tell us that "well-being" visits for preventative care only have to occur every 5-10 years, depending on our age? Are they going to say, "aspirin, fluids and rest" are enough to combat any common malady?
but, but...
I thought all issues of healthcare were between a woman and her doctor?
