TEXAS WINS BIG AGAINST KANSAS: LONGHORNS TAKE FIRST DIVISION TITLE SINCE 2005

Texas began the night 10 – 0. Their path to the Big 12 South is clear with a win against Kansas. But never count your opponent out, especially when the opponent is looking to redeem themselves after a five game loosing streak.

“We will see a team in here from Kansas that is excited about playing, trying to right their wrongs from over the past five weeks, and trying to get in a bowl game,” Said Coach Mack Brown. “They have us and then their rivalry game with Missouri the next week, so they have a lot to play for.”

Didn’t they already have the Big 12 south locked up, with or without a win against Kansas (btw a Big 12 north team).

The real question is which SEC team will get to beat Texas in January :). Seriously, I saw Kansas moving the ball (especially running) against Texas’ No. 1 defense...and Kansas is terrible. I can’t imagine Ingram or Tebo plowing through them.

Texas can stop the run. Kansas ran 26 times for 47 yards (1.8 per carry). Despite the hype that the Big 12 would be the best conference this year, they've had a down year. SEC has been good, but not great. Pac-10 has actually been the most interesting to watch.

Those total yardage numbers probably include sacks. I only watched the first half...but I was surprised to see Kansas average 5 yards every time they ran the option....and they didn’t execute it that well. I know Texas has the No.1 defense...but as stated, the Big 12 wasn’t that good...not even Oklahoma. I don’t think the Texas defense has really been tested....but it will be (assuming they don’t get upset in the Big 12 Title game)

Colt McCoy has a younger brother that is the QB for Graham, Texas, HS. Graham is in the playoffs and just this last weekend beat the powerhouse Monahans. Now if I can just convince Chase to consider going to Tennessee because he would probably be able to play all four years as QB. At least he’d be able to wear orange....Tennessee needs a good Texas born and reared QB so they too can be competitive in the SEC.
