Here is video of Bernie Goldberg on with Bill O'Reilly last night where he used his response to Jon Stewart's attack on him to say that Gov. Sarah Palin's actions have destroyed the illusion that liberals have a corner on "compassion" in America.
Goldberg had recently commented that Sarah Palin chose to give birth to her baby, Trig, who is a Downs Syndrome child. Goldberg had said "liberals don't have five kids" and "liberals certainly don't allow that to happen" (having a Down's Syndrome child).
I don't know how accurate that statement by Goldberg is. I'm sure there are liberals who have large families and who choose to give birth to special needs children. But Goldberg's larger point is a good one. As he says at the end of this video, the person far more likely to choose life over death for a special needs child is a woman who is conservative, a person of faith, and pro-life, as opposed to a woman who is liberal, devoid of faith, and pro-abortion.
I think he has gotten to the core of one reason liberals seem to be deranged with hate for Sarah Palin. She embodies the antithesis of what liberals say you must be to be compassionate. Yet, her life experience and actions exude compassion and character. Palin is a threat to far more than their politics - she is a threat to their worldview. . . . (VIDEO)

Jon Stewart is a weasel! He is about as funny as a truckload of pregnant women who look like Yassah Arafat.
re: who is a Downs Syndrome child
It’s not “Downs Syndrome”, it’s “Down Syndrome.”
It’s Down’s Syndrome (note the possessive apostrophe)
I like Bernie but someone should tell him he didn’t invent the term “Lamestream media.” It has been used here on FR for years.
No, it’s not. It’s the Down Syndrome Society, and they should know how it’s spelled. Sorry to be so adamant, but I took a heck of hit one time when I captioned a news photo incorrectly and the copy editor gigged me for the error. Three of them in a year and you’re out of a job!
Thanks!
