...And I am kicking myself! :-(
I called the bookstore yesterday and talked to a nice lady who gave me details. Her final question was, "Would you like to purchase this over the phone? I can do that for you!" and stupid me, I say, NOOOOOOO, I'll come over in person tomorrow (today) and pay in person.
Drove all the way over there this morning and was told they completely SOLD OUT!!!! this morning right after opening--I guess conservatives in Dallas area heard what happened in Michigan with the overwhelming response to Sarah's first stop, and decided not to take any chances.
I'm so disappointed. :*( My 9 y/o daughter Maya is going to be sooooooo upset, she wanted to meet Sarah in person so bad!! :*(
Anyone in the Dallas area, if you hear of 2 extra tickets to the Legacy bookstore event on Friday, Dec. 4th, please please let me know!!
Oh man that sucks. I’m so sorry, try showing up anyway, you never know. I’d show up even though they say its sold out
A word to the wise elsewhere.
The lady I talked to this morning said the police will keep people without tickets far away from the building, so that wouldn’t work. :-(
I feel so bad for Maya, she was so excited this morning when I told her I was going to pick up the tickets today. :*(
I heard a report yesterday saying she’s sold about 6 million copies of her book so far. That’s phenominal.
I will ask around. Maybe someone has two tickets available. I will look at Craigslist too. I feel bad for Maya too, I would feel the same way. Keep us posted. How many people are they expecting there
6 MILLION..HOLY COW....NICE!!!
SOLD OUT 2 weeks before the event? Way to go, Sarah! (Sorry for you missing out, but I’m so happy for Sarah.) Will the store put you on a waiting list? People could die, or get H1N1 before Dec. 4!
If the waiting list got long enough they might schedule a back up event. I know that they could get more books in before the 4th.
Since when do you have to buy tickets for a book signing
About the only other book that could get this kind of attention is maybe a new Harry Potter book. It is unbelievable that a book on any politician (for or against), could receive a 10th of the attention paid to this one. And people thought Sarah was done?
Yeah, 1.5 million were ordered on Amazon.com alone before her book ever came out. That doesn’t count preoreders on Barnes&Noble.com. And the number of books flying off the shelves yesterday is just crazy.
That is AWESOME!! My book is coming tomorrow. I can’t wait to read this book
Yeah, I ordered mine on Amazon.com about a month ago and it will be in tomorrow as well. I’ve heard good things about and I’m looking forward to it.
I heard Sarah speaking in one of her interviews the other day.
She said that when she resigned as Governor or Alaska, her father told people, “She not finished....she’s just reloading!” I loved to hear that.
That is amazing.
Great screen name, btw. President wee-wee. LOL!
Stop and think about the perfect timing of her book tour.
Obama is out of the country (and tanking and bowing).
Independents by almost 60% disapprove of Obama.
Another terrorist attack under his watch.
Jobs still being lost in a major way, while proclaiming jobs were created or saved in non existent districts.
Hints at another stimulus (being called jobs bill)
And a book to give as a holiday gift to fellow office employees, relatives, neighbors etc, to help them learn who Sarah really is.!
Oh, thank you, SB! I would be indebted to you if you could help us, even if it’s just 1 ticket for Maya! (If you check my FR home page, I’ve got pics of Maya there)—I think the number the lady told me yesterday was 900—Sarah is supposed to be there 3 hours, and they couldn’t sell more than that (don’t want Sarah’s arm to fall off after signing that many books!).
Its BRILLIANT..Even Politico(That liberal rag) said today that Sarah’s book tour kinda looks like campaign stops..oh gee Politico, YA THINK!! She is hitting battleground states..the areas Obama won..I just hope eventually she comes here to Los Angeles. I will wait all night just to meet her
Since when do you have to buy tickets for a book signing
Since you can make money off them. Capitalism at it’s best.
