Spratt Gets A Real Opponent Next Year

For 27 years Congressman John Spratt has gone to D.C. and cast thousands of votes on behalf of the people of upstate South Carolina. There may have been a time when Mr. Spratt’s representation reflected the values of this district, but that certainly isn’t today. The Fifth has changed over the years, but Congressman Spratt has not. Communities such as Rock Hill, Fort Mill, and other parts of the district have been overflowing with folks from Charlotte and even other parts of the nation seeking the benefits of an area shaped and nurtured on typical middle class American values: low taxes, quiet affordable communities, and neighborly residents. These are people who work hard for a living, want the government out of their lives, and raise their families with traditional American morals, respect, and personal responsibility. Why then do we have a representative in Washington casting votes weekly for policies and procedures that reflect the exact opposite of our residents?

For years Democrat John Spratt has represented the Republican leaning 5th Congressional District of South Carolina. He keeps getting token challengers each year from the GOP, but this time he's got a well liked and popular conservative State Senator Mick Mulvaney running against him. Let's retire John Spratt for good and get real representation for the 5th!
