Here is video of David Brooks on ABC's "This Week" saying Sarah Palin is a "joke" and calling her a "potential talk show host."
Brooks said "I just can't take her seriously" and said "the idea that this potential talk show host is considered seriously for the Republican nomination, believe me it will never happen." (Video)

David Brooks is the “House Conservative” at the NY Times; if you are unfamiliar with what this means, it is similar to what Pravda used to try under the Soviets. They would have one guy, I think his name was “Joe” who spoke perfect English and who would be the “house critic” of Soviet policies to show that dissent in Russia really was tolerated. Ted Koppel, to his credit, tried to pin him down on Nightline as to exactly what he would criticize in the Soviet government; Sweating, Joe responded weakly that he thought that the government’s condemnation of the takover of the US Embassy by the Iranian “students” could have been a bit tougher. David Brooks is the “Joe” of the NY Times.
Great to hear from the Preppie GOP, Dave. I bet Sarah’s lousy with a squash racket, too. But you’d probably stay inside when the next rainstorm hits Manhattan, because with your nose that far up in the air, you’ll drown, son.
David Brooks. What a newshole.Did you make up that term just for little Davey? It's an excellent term and I'm going to be using it.
But little Davey Brooks is a "conservative"... don't you know?
Eat yer heart out Davy, baby. Eat yer heart out.
No. But I wish I did.
I stole it from a local radio talk show in nearby Sacramento. Armstrong & Getty. They come up with some good ones. I steal as many as I can.
As many as I can remember anyways.
Feel free to use it. I hope to hear them talk about how the word has become part of the lexicon some day.
I don’t think there’s any Republican that Hussein can beat in 2012, PROVIDED there’s an election, and Hussein hasn’t legalized 30 million Mexicans. We will be in the fourth year of a Depression, but to the Mexican illegals it will seem like paradise, provided by Hussein.
I am for Sarah because I THINK she might have the guts to work for real reform and restoration. My dream is to restore silver and gold coins to circulation, abolish the Fed, repeal the 16th, 17th, and 19th amendments, deport all illegals, and make our borders as secure from illegals as the Berlin Wall. We would pay an economic penalty for preserving our language and culture, but Free Trade is only one aspect of the Common Good.
Because of political correctness, in The NY Times newsroom they prefer to say, "that was pretty Brooks."
I can’t wait for that.
Not just the liberal, but the leftist-extremist line.
Hard leftist David Corn (currently with Mother Jones, previously Katrina vanden Heuvel's "Igor" at The Nation) was on the panel, and fell all over himself, chiming in again and again, to agree with and praise Brooks' comments regarding Palin.
This didn't appear to bother Brooks at all. In fact he seemed to be enjoying the praise.
enough reason to vote for her
I wonder if he wants salt and pepper on his crow.
Sarah would be an excellent talk show host.
these cats are really scared...
AND a family!
Of course David Brock is against Sarah Palin. She represents everything he and the gay community oppose.
My mistake for thinking David Brooks is David Brock who is gay. However, David Brooks has said, "We should insist on gay marriage. We should regard it as scandalous that two people could claim to love each other and not want to sanctify their love with marriage and fidelity.... It's going to be up to conservatives to make the important, moral case for marriage, including gay marriage."
Sounds to me like what Brooks is saying is that he/they (the DemocRats) are never going to pick Palin in the Republican primary. They’ll pick another McCain. Just like they did LAST time.

We need to show Brooks just how wrong he and his DemocRat friends are about that.
Who’s David Brooks?
A conservative? In whose fantasyland?
