In a move expected but feared, self-proclaimed Sept. 11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and four other Guantanamo Bay detainees will be brought to trial in a civilian federal courthouse in New York, blocks from site of the devastating 2001 terror attacks. Prosecutors expect to seek the death penalty.
While the opponents of the move are fearful of moving the trial from a Military Tribunal in Gitmo, to a civilian court in NY may make it easier for the terrorist be found innocent, that is not the real problem with the move. Neither is the worry that New York will become a an ever bigger target for al Qaeda and other terrorist groups.
The terrorist cases are being moved to civilian court is to make his left wing supporters happy by putting George Bush, his administration, the CIA, military and intelligence operatives on trial, in the number one media city in the world home of the liberal Media, NYC.

I’m feeling sick. I hadn’t thought of this but it makes perfect sense.
Any decent defense attorney could turn this into a three year circus, with the US itself on trial, and reams of classified intel exposed.
And since intel is almost never of trial-quality value as evidence, then they get to get it all thrown out.
This will be a proxy trial of Bush and Cheney that Holder has wanted from the beginning. Possibly to be followed by a real trial. Except that I think enough people will be sickened by this spectacle that it may bring out a wholesale rebellion at the next election. This may bring on the most dramatic blowout in 2010 you’ve ever seen, with 2012 not far behind.
Our Country, the C.I.A. the F.B.I. men and women, our troops, the former President, Vice President and their administration. That’s the real target. While at the same time, giving the Islamist terrorist American citizens’ rights.

This whole thing is disgusting, and will be a HUGE distraction while it goes on and on and on. In the meantime, while one hand is dealing with New York and this trial the other hand will be making sure that they break this country. There is nothing this admin. will not due to make sure that this country is torn. God help us.
