Here is video of Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour on Meet the Press today where he was asked what he thought about Gov. Sarah Palin. Barbour said "I like her - don't always agree with her, but I like her." He said Palin has "something to offer." Barbour refused to say whether he thought Palin could be President. He said no one needs to be talking about that right now. Barbour said that now, every Republican should be focused on "winning in 2010. Then we can think about President in 2012." . . . (VIDEO)

I used to like Barbour, though now I’m not sure why. I do hear he’s a good governor, however. But he’s like Newt and McCain and all the old establishment RINOs who harbor or have harbored their own presidential aspirations, they are almost insufferably condescending. Barbour talks about how others ‘like’ and ‘care for her’ in the party, when she’s obviously got more political power and talent and firmness of principle than any Republican has had in 20+ years—themselves included.
Actually, it’s a smart answer. Keep the interview on message and on point. The need to bring up Sarah is an attempt to meander somewhere else.
I am disappointed with Sarah and other republicans during the healthcare debate. I think she whould have come down to the lower 48 and raised hell over the bill. Instead she stayed in her shell in Alaska and posted on myface.
I wonder what he disagrees with her about?
What would be so important that he must say it up front and out loud?
Well Barbour is no RINO and usually pretty straight. My take on this is Barbour doesn’t take Palin very seriously.
I suspect he's keeping his cards close to the vest, which at this point is good enough for me.
He wants the Party’s nomination and she is a front-runner, well ahead of him, at least. But the tone is little-girl patronizing.
I wasn't aware Barbour has run for President before and have seen no evidence of him seeking to run in 2012 to justify some political swipe at Palin. Again - I just don't think he takes her seriously.
For someone who is so unimportant, and insignificant, hours of time, barrels of ink, and tons of paper have been devoted to discussing everything related to Gov. Palin.
All this huge increase in attacks on her are, IMO, is an effort to blunt the effect of what is going to be a tsunami of book sales, Palin’s upcoming book tour, and a host of interviews she’ll be giving for about a month or so before Christmas. But, what old Sam doesn’t realize, Going Rogue is already the #1 best seller, and it wouldn’t surprise me one bit if her book signing appearances turn into impromptu rallies. You’ll notice that most of her scheduled appearances so far are in states won by 0bama, NY, OH, PA, FL, NC, with much fewer appearances in states that McCain won. I think this is a type of psychological warfare on her part, to demonstrate that she has real appeal even in 0bama territory.
There’s all kinds of speculation and reports out of Miss that he’d be interested. He’s about the ultimate character of a dread Republican pol to non-Republicans, and he doesn’t take her seriously?

I like Haley also...when he was the face of the republican party years back, he backed down to no one and was great watching on TV. Spoke his mind and was not apologizing for being a conservative republican...I hear he is a good governor also...
