Take Guns out of the hands of law abiding people and only criminals have them.
What in hell was this clown doing in our military?
Infiltrating.
PC run amok. Check out this blog:

Not flogging his blog - it’s an interesting read especially for USN types. He tears into PC.
Being in the military doesn't confer instant sainthood. The military is like any other large group of people. You have your proportion of criminals, idiots, a$$holes (ring knockers being a subset of these), and psychos - just like you have a proportion of liberals and conservatives.
It is worth being reminded.... not all Muslims are terrorists ... BUT ...all recent years terroists have been Muslim.
I’ve had all I can stomach with the religion of peace. Oh and yes .. the continual silence of those self righteous muslim NON TERRORISTS ... speaks volumes as well.
The military needs to rethink.
All E5s or E4s shoulod be armed, even on base.
What say you?
Most people don’t realize that military bases are gun free zones, similar to a college campus. It’s been that way for a long time. Maybe this unfortunate tragedy will wake up some people.
He demonstrated what he was doing yesterday.
“the continual silence of those self righteous muslim NON TERRORISTS ... speaks volumes as well.”
They’re just waiting until it looks like their side is winning to show their true colors. Not even the courage of muslim conviction.
Finally, an answer.
The Barbarians are within the gates.
Caller to the Michael Medved show yesterday told about an experience with a young seaman years ago who was clearly anti-American. The caller asked the seaman why he was in the Navy if he hated America so much... he was told to enlist by his Imam.
I didn’t serve, so can I ask a dumb question?
Where and when do officers wear sidearms?
Military bases have some peculiar problems, which need to be taken into account before comparing them with a civilian situation.
The first of these would be the ease of gun theft. Since entire units will leave a barracks unattended for days, Personally Owned Firearms (POFs) can be a hassle to secure. Often the closest safe is at battalion level, and they need that safe for other things. And one thing is guaranteed, if you want to store it in the arms room, the arms room NCO will be harder to find than Jimmy Hoffa.
And don’t even think they can’t get to it in your wall locker made out of recycled beer cans.
The second problem is off post regulations and restrictions. At Fort Hood, this is best illustrated not with guns, but with beer. Depending on which gate you enter or leave by, the various counties have completely different beer laws. And while county gun laws are probably not as persnickety, at least in Texas, they certainly are elsewhere.
And more and more, even if you are 100% in the right, if the local cop who pulls you over is as ignorant as the day is long, you are still going to have to spend the day at the police station before they halfheartedly apologize and let you go.
Then there is gate security. A lot of posts are wide open, others are always closed, and some are like little flowers, open one minute and closed the next. POL depots can be so paranoid that they wouldn’t let in the Pope, with a personal note from Douglas MacArthur (PBUH).
Others, like hospital posts, are sometimes so blase that if you are carrying a rifle, they just ask you to unload it and point the muzzle down in sling arms.
Post Commanders also vary tremendously, and they often think of themselves like ships Captains. No POFs on post, and no mustaches, either. Or conversely, they might permit POFs in bedside tables, but they have to be inspected for serviceability by the unit First Sergeant at intervals. If you have one, it had better well work and be clean and functional, even if it is a black powder flintlock pistol.
I think from a strategic standpoint, and regardless of the base rules on firearm possession, you would want your MP’s deployed in areas of high population density in order to limit opportunity for attacks like this.
It’s funny because while in Iraq, there were about 12,000 of us fully armed with 210 rounds each at Forward Operating Base Marez and not one violent incident occurred that I know of. But, we return to Fort Carson and firearms are extremely restricted on base. Everybody being trapped on a F.O.B. over in Iraq with assault rifles and enough ammo to kill each other off without one incident occurring is proof that an armed society is a polite society.
