Democratic sources tell me that AARP – easily the most influential seniors lobby – will endorse the health reform legislation put together by Speaker Nancy Pelosi and House Democrats.
Speaker Pelosi and her leadership team have been lobbying the lobby for weeks. AARP officials also met yesterday with WH Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel and took the proposed endorsement to their Board of Directors. A public announcement is expected tomorrow or Friday, in advance of a vote by the full House likely to come on Saturday.
“Big victory,” summed up one top Democrat.
The Speaker still doesn’t have the 218 votes she needs to pass the bill. Moderate Dems are balking over abortion funding and illegal immigrants

IIRC, the AARP get buckets of cash from its own health plans marketed to its membership. This is just a lobbying organization protecting its turf.

AARP is hemhorrhaging members by the thousands over this.
I just turned 50 and they started sending me membership solicitations. I’m going to take the next one, write on it that they will never get my membership dues because they are run by a bunch of liberal weenies who care more about the progressive agenda than the interests of “mature” Americans.
The way these people lie I wouldn’t believe anything they say. Pelosi/Reid/Obama couldn’t or wouldn’t tell the truth even if the truth was on their side.
Pelosi is bragging that they “won” last night. Wait ‘til next year and she’ll really have something to brag about.
Who is funding the AARP? It sure isn’t me.
It is funded by old liberals, and, old conservatives who are not paying attention to what is going on.
No matter, Obamacare is dead after last night, and it was barely alive even before. The dems will kick the obamacare can down the street indefinitely until it is forgotten. Count on it.

Maybe it’s time to put AARP out of business period! They are nothing but liars and they expect seniors to buy their BS! No ... let them screw themselves out of business. We will take our country back and individuals and business supporting the socialist takeover are going to be gone!
I do believe the Seniors in our country have seen the light when it comes to AARP. This was so predictable of them!
Send it back to them in a USPS Flat-Rate Box filled with 70 pounds of manure. Do that because they never read the notes, but they have to deal with the manure.
who is funding AARP?....didn’t you know....it gets a huge amount of money from the taxpayers.....its multiple millions I know that for sure.....it seems like a few years ago it got $90,000,000 a year....
