I agree - after reading the Times’ editorial, it sounds like THEY are supporting the dem, and just threw her name in their for good measure.

Its an article supporting Hoffman repeating the self-serving reports that one exists. Really? What "self-serving" report was it repeating?

They don’t have the pledge and neither do you. You both are relying on self-serving reports and claims and statements that a pledge even exists.
Show us the pledge.

All the more reason we see now what a big mistake it was for them to run her in the first place! Obviously she is about as much a Republican as Lowell Weicker or Jacob Javits, who routinely would endorse Dems over conservative Republican nominees.
Weicker always insisted if “moderate” Republicans ran, that was the only way to victory. Many of them have run for senator or US rep here in recent years and guess what? Most of them LOSE anyway.

You better go read your source. It contradicts your claims.
Suggestion for you.
When you have dug yourself into an indefensible debate position on Free Republic, it is best just to shut up and walk away rather then spend all your time and effort making sure more and more people see your errors.
You lost, get over it.

tioga - "Instead she shows her true colors by quietly telling her supporters to vote Democrat. "
Mojave - "You must have a quote."
Dede's Democratic Preference Dede's husband, Ron McDougall, issued this statement:
"This has been a difficult day for my family. But the needs and concerns of the men and women of the 23rd Congressional District remain paramount," McDougall said. "As such, I wholeheartedly and without reservation endorse the candidacy of Bill Owens."
As a life-long labor activist, I know that Bill Owens understands the issues important to working people. On the other hand, Doug Hoffman has little regard for the interests of workers."
"Hoffmans opposition to the Employee Free Choice Act, coupled with his support for the failed policies of the Bush Administration make him a poor choice to serve the citizens of the 23rd Congressional District.
It's not Dede, but her husband? I'd say that's close enough to "quietly telling her supporters to vote Democrat"

Youre making another error if you think this womans endorsement makes any difference at all at this point anyway. The die is cast. Really? Who says the die is cast?
If the race between Owen and Hoffman is close then a Scozzafava endorsement of one of the candidates could be enough to convince some of her clueless supporters to swing the election.
That's likely why the this rumor is printed as fact in this Watertown paper.
To: MNJohnnie
It contradicts your claims. You can't quote one, of course.

Yes, and the claims of a pledge which they report are self-serving claims of GOP party hacks.
You cannot be this dense.
Well, maybe...

Im doing neither. Ive simply posted what this publication is saying, and stating my own opinion...So you agree it's rumor.
To: Mojave
You just took her filthy abortion money to shill for her on Free Republic.
I hope she didn't pay you much, because your work was so poor as to make of yourself a complete and pathetic laughingstock.
Have I got a copy [of the pledge]? Nope. Just numerous biased witnesses and second-hand sources to his pledging to support the nominee.
