The free-for-all House race in New Yorks 23rd district has turned into a nationally watched referendum on the state and direction of the national GOP and now the heavy-hitting left is entering the race, with MoveOn warning its massive membership that the right-wing candidate must be defeated in order to weaken the Palin wing of the Republican party.
The race a three-way contest between conservative Douglas Hoffman, moderate GOPer Dede Scozzafava, and Dem Bill Owens has drawn the attention of Palin and other big name conservatives who hope a Hoffman victory will boost their influence within the GOP.
Now MoveOn is seizing on the specter of a victory for Palin and the right to raise cash for the Dem. From MoveOns new email to its list:
Warning: A bizarre House race in upstate New York could end up giving a big national boost to Sarah Palin and the far right, and endangering health care reform in the House.
Heres how: In a three-way race, Doug Hoffman, a right-wing third party candidate, has gotten Sarah Palins endorsement and become a cause célèbre for the far-right fringe. They think the Republican nominee is too liberal because shes pro-choice and supports gay marriage
If Hoffman wins, teabaggers and hate groups will have their own representative in Congress.
Palin and the tea partiers are such a potent fundraising draw on the left that you can bet national liberal money will flow into this once-obscure House race just to deny the Palin/tea party brigade a victory and a boost in influence. Getting interesting.
So they think holding their breathe and turning blue will force people who don’t belong to moveon to go and vote? News is that the people going door to door for the dems there aren’t having much luck and are being told exactly what people think of Obama!
The outrageous smears keep piling higher and higher. The sad fact is that they're sometimes effective.
Now, I heard Hoffman on Roger Hedgecock and saw him on Glenn Beck. Now, if there is someone more moderate, down to earth and sober, I haven't met him. The guy is an accountant for Pete's sake. He's dish water. Hoffman appears to be completely decent and serious person.
To smear him as an hater is so completely outrageous to leave one speechless.
Simple projection and another peek into the mind of the Liberal.
Yes, GOPers who receive Margaret Sanger awards for their support of infant murder and genocide qualify for the “moderate” adjective, which lifts them somewhat from the non-progressive, lowest level of political Hell—where conservatives boil in their own excrement.
Otherwise it’s business as usual for journalists (always self-described only as neutral or objective, even if they do start cheering in the newsroom when a leftist wins) when applying descriptive adjectives to conservatives: “ultraright”, “staunch rightwing”, “far right”, “rabidly right”, “certifiably right”, “criminally conservative, “jackbooted goosesteppers”, etc. If they haven’t taken their Cymbalta, it’s much worse.
The result of the race has nothing to do with me and why I am going to a tea party rally tomorrow. I am going to support adherance to the Constitution, limited government, decentralization of government, protection of the sovereignty of the People and the United States from foreign rule through treaties, protection of the integrity of private property rights and protection of individual rights from being trampled by the fickle will of a populist majority. I oppose programs that increase the national debt and undermine the value of a dollar. I oppose Nationalization of businesses and health care and the passage of cap and trade. That is why I am going.
This race is thousands of miles away. I will not have the liberals define the success of advancing these causes by some race in upstate New York.
Portrait of the Hatemonger as a Young Man:
This hatemonger has earned the coveted endorsement of another hatemonger, Iowahawk.
So little time, so much to hate.
Yours in hatred, TChad.
Can we call them “Moveoners”?
These people need to be CRUSHED!
That was my first thought. The conservatives better enlist a lot of professional poll watchers to make sure the Dems AND the Republicans don't play any dirty tricks.
