Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich (R-Ga.) on Sunday offered one of the strongest hints yet that he will run for the nation's highest office in 2012.
Gingrich said that he will begin seriously considering the possibility in about 15 months.
"Callista and I are going to think about this in February 2011. And we are going to reach out to all of our friends around the country," he said on C-SPAN's "Washington Journal" this morning. "We'll decide, if there's a requirement as citizens that we run, I suspect we probably will. And if there's not a requirement, if other people have filled the vacuum, I suspect we won't."
Many political observers have tabbed former House Speaker Newt Gingrich (R-Ga.) as a presidential hopeful in past election cycles. Critics say that the leader of the 1994 Republican Revolution will not run because of his tumultuous personal life; he has been married three times and engaged in an extramarital affair during Bill Clinton's impeachment.

I applaud every word in your post. Now—how do we get the country back? In general, the democrats are considerably more offensive to the country and the Constitution than are republicans. Therefore, the correct long-term strategy is to focus attention on defeating the Ds. Simultaneously, of course, we run preferred candidates in R primaries.
And in special cases like NY23, we support the Hoffmans.

A paragon of class, you are! I think your support of Wallace in 68 says it all. Sorry about those integrated busses...
Thank you for revealing yourself as the ignorant oaf I suspected you were. Read some history you dunce, and find out what the Wallace-LeMay AIP (that's "American Independent Party" since I doubt you even know) campaign was all about.
So you supported Nixon? How'd that turn out for ya?

The real opposition is the cabal of political elitists who think they know how to run your life better than you do.
THAT is what makes party affiliation meaningless. You have nailed it.
The real opposition is the cabal of political elitists who care naught for the Constitution and for the American way of life, who treat United States citizens as naught but votes and sources of funding, and who would willingly and gladly destroy the United States by ceding her God-given sovereignty to others in exchange for thirty pieces of silver.
PRECISELY, iow how the past administrations going back to January 20, 1989 have behaved.
GHWB? Globalist, internationalist, U.N. suckup.
Clinton? Globalist, sociopath and sexual predator, got sucked.
GWB? Globalist, RINO, failed to finish the mission (aka the War on Terror on that infamous 'Axis of Evil'), and his failure to defend his policies allowed his political enemies (and America's domestic enemies, i.e. 'Rats) to seize the high ground, and that REALLYsucked.
0bama? An incompetent not-ready-for-amateur-night (let alone prime time), ignorant, pompous and arrogant phuckwit who has about as much business in the Oval Office as Roman Polanksi, and what 0bama is doing to America is what Polanski did to his 13 year old victim, except 0bama isn't even bothering to slip anybody a Quaalude & lube first. And 0bama totally sucks!
That is the REAL domestic enemy, and it is one that is far more fearsome and nefarious than any foreign enemy that can be mustered. It is one that is not neatly contained within the confines of any single party.
I'm afraid Rabs, that regarding our fellow poster Bucky, you are engaging in that Biblical pastime known as 'casting your pearls before swine'.
But damn nice post anyway.

Fixed that for you Bucky. You're not half as smart as you think you are. Read your history, as far as the 1968 election, you know nothing.

You wouldn't know bigotry if it walked up to you and slapped you in the face. You think that General Curtis E. LeMay would have signed on to a presidential ticket if he believed that Governor Wallace was a bigot?
The '68 campaign was about resisting the ever expanding role of the federal government which had reached gargantuan proportions thanks to LBJ's (not so) Great Society, and Nixon (as history proves) continued to expand the role of government in each and every part of our lives.
As surprising as it may be for you, Wallace's first run for Governor of Alabama included a platform position in FAVOR of integration, and he was defeated for it and for what was perceived to be his LIBERAL tendencies as a circuit court judge.
Here, chew on these Wallace quotes:
1966 - "Well use the power and prestige of the governors office to try to awaken the American people to the trends that are rampant in our country, a trend that says we must fight the Communists in Vietnam while at the same time the Communist-controlled beatnik mobs in the streets influence national affairs in Washington, D.C."
1967- "I have never made a derogatory remark about one of Gods children and I never will. If I am elected, I am going to treat all fairly."
1968- ""And it is a sad day in our country that you cannot walk even in your neighborhoods at night or even in the daytime because both national parties, in the last number of years, have kowtowed to every group of anarchists that have roamed the streets of San Francisco and Los Angeles and throughout the country. And now they have created themselves a Frankenstein monster, and the chickens are coming home to roost all over this country." "Yes, theyve looked down their nose at you and me a long time. Theyve called us rednecks -- the Republicans and the Democrats. Well, were going to show, there sure are a lot of rednecks in this country."
1971- (Inaugural speech as Governor) "Our state government is for all -- so let us join together, for Alabama belongs to all of us -- black and white, young and old, rich and poor alike."
And among his final words before his death?
"I dont hate blacks. The day I said segregation forever, I never said a thing that would upset a black person unless it was [the word] segregation. I never made fun of em about inequality and all that kind of stuff. But my vehemence was against the federal government folks. I didnt make people get mad against black people. I made em get mad against the courts."
Need more Bucky?
George Wallace made Richard Nixon's enemies list.
Imagine that while you bask in your ignorance.

Dont start the character assassination against the ideologically impureId like to win in 12. There is NO way that Newt would win in 2012 ...or any other even year. He was effectively "Newtered"" by the press several years ago. Teach history, write some more books, and make guest appearances on FOX News. All in all, it can be a good life Newt.

That’s fine—he’s not the candidate that I want. My point is that we should support our preferred candidates, and not slime the rest. We only play into the democrats’ hands when we do so.
Fair enough?

Dont start the character assassination against the ideologically impureId like to win in 12.So let's see - he' backing a pro-abort, pro-gay marriage, pro-tax, pro-stimulus corrupt candidate - but you don't find an issue with that. Instead, you like him.
Methinks you might want to find another website, such as RINOS-R-US.COM. Scuzzy is gonna lose a solid GOP seat. Newt and the RNC types are glad to help.
