When tyranny calls

In explanation for her "yes" vote on the Max Baucus created health care bill, Maine Senator Olympia Snowe said:

"Is this bill all that I would want? Far from it. Is it all that it can be? No. But when history calls, history calls."

Senator Snowe is probably right. History is calling. What she has wrong is history's message. History is calling with the warning that tyranny is at our doorstep.

The tyranny that threatens us is not the same brand as the violent police states of the 20th century. Tyranny in America will look more like the misguided utopianism that has taken England from being the greatest, freest nation on earth to the frail remains of a world power it is today.

History called on England in the aftermath of World War II. During the war, the Axis Powers threatened England's very existence. In such dire circumstances it became necessary for the entire country to work under central direction to achieve its military objectives. However, after the Allied Forces retook Europe, England believed that wartime-style government planning should continue. The government proceeded to dismantle what, in many ways, was once the freest economy in world history.

To: Scanian Well written and insightful post!

Agree.

This should be copied and passed around to one and all including emails, tea party activists, conservative Congress-Criters (the few that there are, lol) et al.

Have not seen anyone lay it out so succinctly and raise such a specter of loss of liberty as well as this article.

I (as probably others) has wondered WHY the DummyRats in the face of such overwhelming opposition by Americans are ignoring their wishes.

NOW, as explained in this article, it begins to make sense.

They just don't care cuz they know if they get this thru (by hook or crook) they will be forever in the cat bird seat!

BE AFRAID, BE VERY AFRAID!!!

Nations get into trouble when they violate the Unalienable, Natural Rights of the citizens.

From 1789 to 1932 our government more, rather than less, followed the philosophy set forth in our Declaration of Independence, “That to secure these (unalienable) Rights, Governments are instituted among Men, . . .” Our liberty and property were secure and we grew from an agricultural backwater to a major world power.

Tyrannical governments violate Natural Law at every turn to retain power. Man's right to property, conscience, free expression of religion, press, making an honest living, self-government, self-defense, free association and more are limited or eliminated.

The The United States, the nation that put into practice the highest ideals of Western Civilization is on a glidepath to tyranny.

“Look, our so called “representatives” can pass this and other Marxist legislation without reading it as the Obama agenda requires them to do, so pardon me if I don’t read it myself. It’s all about CONTROL.
The whole purpose of the Czars and other Obamaites in Washington along with the civilian army of “community organization” which the president promised “to staff, equip, and fund on the same level as the US military” is to assure he can maintain complete control of our lives and fortunes, yes, just like Germany of the 1930’s, through rapid “changes” within a “crisis” situation sanctioned by official government edicts and legislation by a one party rule and a state approved media intimidation of all those who object to their tactics. Elections will be meaningless if these anti-capitalists and their thugs are allowed to entrench themselves within Washington and throughout the country in labor unions and federally created “community service volunteer” groups. (In Germany they were called Brown Shirts)
If you think we are still divided as democrats and republicans forget it!
As of the last election we are either proud to be Judeo-Christian American capitalists on our way to regaining our republic or world class Socialists on our way to becoming atheistic communists.
If you believe this stand up and tell the truth. If you think Obama is just another Jimmy Carter you’re naive and in for a terrible awakening. Of course if you think Obama is the messiah like so many sad souls accept your bondage in humility and pray the rest of us are able to soon free you.”
