WATERTOWN, N.Y.
Doug Hoffman today got the official endorsement of former House Majority Leader Dick Armey and likened his congressional campaign to the U.S. hockey team's upset victory in the 1980 Winter Olympics.
"Let's go back to Lake Placid," said Hoffman, who worked as a financial officer for the Olympiad near his hometown of Saranac Lake. "We're going to create a miracle on Nov. 3. . . . That miracle starts today."
After weeks of a low-profile campaign in the upstate 23rd District special election, suddenly national media attention is focused on the race. Liberal Republican candidate Dede Scozzafava appears to be in meltdown mode and Hoffman is now riding a "tsunami" of momentum, one campaign source confided this morning.

Doug Hoffman is the Conservative alternative in this race (or Hoffman by PayPal).
Markos Moulitsas, founder of The Daily Kos has endorsed Scozzafava. Dede Scozzafava has also been endorsed by NYSUT, the largest labor union in New York, and an affiliate of the National Education Association.
Scozzafava also holds these positions:
Scozzafava has also run in past elections on the Working Families Party (a progressive party associated with ACORN) line on the ballot.
This lady isn’t a RINO, she is a big “R” libeRal democRat. Mark Steyn has coined the term DIABLO for her and others like her. Democrat In All But Label Only.
There are also at least 17 unprincipled DIABLO enablers in the house who have donated funds or otherwise supported to this LibeRal democRat's DIABLO’s campaign. They include Boehner, Cantor, Sessions, Hensarling, Brown-Waite and McCotter. I don’t have a full list, but I will be looking for it. These unprincipled enablers should be targeted for elimination in the primaries next year. Also, perhaps those of us who donated to the RNC or RCCC should ask for our money back so we can support the conservative candidates of our choice.

I support Doug Hoffman for Congress (PayPal). Please, spread the word about this important election on November 3, 2009 in New York’s 23rd congressional district. |
The fundraising looks great—I’m anxious to see what the polls say. The last one was Oct. 15—anyone know when the next one will be out?
What’s the deal w/ Beck booking him for today then cancelling him? Does anyone know?
Maybe he thought it would be bad for the campaign?
I sent him $10 - my goal is to pick out alot of conservative candidates who NEED our support and send money DIRECTLY to them...I’m making up a list of those I’ve sent or am going to send money to...next up NJ Gov Chris Christie!
Scozzafava has the endorsement of Armey's former congressional colleague Newt Gingrich and the support of the national GOP
the national GOP: worthless... don't give them one slim dime
Newt: worthless... I wouldn't p*ss on him if he was on fire
He decided to show up for a candidate’s forum in the district.
Hoffman decided to attend a local event down there at the last moment. I think Scuzzy had decided to go.
Bypass the RNC.
Armeys two-day-tour in Central New York concludes today after a morning visit to Watertown, lunch in Liverpool and a 2:30 p.m. news conference at the Federal Government Offices at 100 S. Clinton St., Syracuse.
Adam Brandon, FreedomWorks vice president of communications, said Hoffman will accompany Armey at all of todays events.
did I also read earlier that Sarah P may be endorsing him? Anyone here know more about that?
...and what’s with Beck stating the candidate’s name as David Hoffman?
“Hey, that’s exactly what I’m doing. Find the conservative candidate and send them $25 direct. Bypass the RNC.”
Exactly. I sent a donation to Hoffman today and have sent two to Marco Rubio so far.
I’d like to learn of any other situations in which conservatives will be running against liberals in Republican primaries, particularly when the RNC supports the liberal.
Up yours, Michael Steele, John Boehner, Newt Gingrich, Ed Gillespie, etc., etc.
When is there going to be another poll? Or are the media going to shut out polling because they don’t want republicans to see that hoffman can win?
Oh my. That outfit, to put it mildly, can be only described as quite unfortunate.
