Here is video of Obama at a school event where he was asked by a student if he was born in Hawaii.
Obama answered:

If someone asked you where you weer born, would you say ..name of place...that’s true. Absolutely? Of course not.

This shows that the question of where he was born hasn’t gone away. And 0bama knows it’s still out there.
that kid could have gotten extra credit for life if he had asked for proof, by way of a Long Form Birth Certificate.

Someone should do a voice-pattern stress analysis on that clip, I bet it would show the subject was not being truthful.
He has no personal memory of where he was born. Given his general track record for veracity, the fact that he says something probably makes it less than a 50-50 chance that it is so.
Hey, I’d have been happy if he’d just had a chance to find out the hospital in a follow-up question. Of course, that would be too much for us to ask of our adult journalists...

OTOH, maybe the kid was a plant. Zero most probably asked the teacher beforehand to pick a kid to ask that question so he could answer it.

When people ask if I was born in San Francisco, I just say yes.
When they want to know where I was born in Oklahoma, I tell them I was born in SFO and moved to Oklahoma....
