ahem ... the record low levels were PERPETUATED and EXACERBATED by water releases from the reservoirs by US Corps of Engineers.

Lack of rain and careless usage habits also lowered the levels.

But clearly it was Florida and Alabama at fault ;-p

Excellent! I had "October 14, 2009 11:47am" in the "Lake Lanier at Full Pool" office pool.

Plus, Al Gore can now float his 100 foot houseboat out there, while his kids get shitfaced and race the jet skis off the back.

Ya know. I could swear that just last year they were saying that Lake Lanier had reach such a low point that it would never recover.

I remember the Weather Channel talking about Lake Lanier hour after hour when it was low...Global Warming, Global Warming, etc. Since NBC bought it, and they have news from NBC and MSNBC I no longer watch.

The overall rain is what should be looked at. On the other hand tropical depressions are key to our ecology.

Media looks at the property damage, not the available water reserve.

Got to sell papers.
